City Wide Rummage Sales begin at 7:00 a.m. Lots of inexpensive treasures will be found in the more than 25 addresses listed to date! There will be lots of goodies for everyone.
The Toledo Kiwanis will open their World Famous Pup Stand at 11:00 a.m. Come and get one of these delicious pronto pups before they close at 5:00 P.M. - or you will be out of luck until next May! Some even say that these pups freeze well, so buy extra and take them home!
The Little Miss Sparkler Pageant begins at 11:00 a.m. There are eight lovely Little Misses hat will be crowned! Come see these cuties as they smile and wave to their families! The Prettiest Baby in Toledo will also be named and crowned - bring your lawn chairs to the Courthouse Square and root for your favorite.
The Toledo Firemen Dunking Booth is always a favorite of this annual Festival. This year the booth will be maned (and womaned) by the CumberlandHigh School FFA. While your trying to dunk your favorite FFA member, remember to vote for who you would like to see "Kiss The Pig" during the FFA Contest. All monies raised will benefit the Cumberland High School FFA Program.
Once Again, Toledo Development is bringing in the Inflatable Rides. The rides will open at 11:00 A.M. and close at 5:00 P.M. Bracelets will be available for 47.00 and are good all day! Advance bracelets are available when you purchase 10 or more. Visit the Toledo Democrat on the Square to purchase our advance bracelets - and you will receive a discount!
The Toledo Ambulance Service is sponsoring a Strutt Your Mutt Dog Show. at noon on the Courthouse Lawn. Prizes will be awarded in several categories. Remember - vaccinated and socialized dogs are welcome to participate. Te $2.00 Entry Fee will be donated to the Toledo Freedom Day Fireworks Fund.
The Toledo Development is sponsoring a Watermelon Eating Contest at 1:00 P.M. on the Courthouse Lawn.How much watermelon can you eat? How fast can you do it? Be there at 1:00 P.M. and find out!
The Toledo Sons of the American Legion is hosting a Singles Washers Tournament on the Courthouse Lawn. Sign up begins at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00 per player, with prizes given out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The tournament begins at 1:30 P.M.
The Annual Skillet Throwing Contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on the Festival Lot.Come test your skills! You get three throws for $1.00, and the winner gets 50% of what is taken in!
New this year is a Texting Contest sponsored by The Toledo Ambulance Service and CellularOne at 3:00 P.M. on he Courthouse Lawn. Come and see who is faster at texting - you or your friends!
The Annual Pizza Eating Contest will be held at Angie's Pizza at 3:30 P.M. Can you be the new champion? Come and stuff your face for free!
Bumble Bee Boutique will host their Kid's Fishing Derby. See what prizes you can get!
The Kid's games will be held at the Toledo American Legion Ball Diamond starting at 5:00 p.m. The Toledo Sons of the American Legion will host their awesome concession stand at the Ball Diamond from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. They will have hamburgers, cheeseburgers, pork burgers, hot dogs, orange/lemon drink, and bottled water! Yummy!
The Pink Flamoingos Relay For Life Team will also be hosting a concession stand at the Ball Diamond. They will offer sno cones, peanuts, popcorn, pop, and candy.
The Kitten "Soft"ball game team registration will be from 5:00 to 5:30 P.M. at the Ball Diamond. The game will begin at 5:30 P.M.
Crystal River Band will be playing outside of the Toledo American Legion from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The band is sponsored by the Toledo Sons of the American Legion and Toledo Development.
At dusk, the grand finale of it all will begin. The annual fireworks show will brighten the sky of Toledo, Illinois. The fireworks are sponsored by Toledo Development.
There are lots of fun, interesting, and inexpensive things to do on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Toledo, Illinois. Make a family day of it... it is worth the drive!
