4th of July Tube Noisemaker Craft for Kids

Jolynne M Hudnell
Kids love crafts and the holidays are good times to let your child's creativity flow. Independence Day is known for fireworks and loud noises. Let your child make his or her own 4th of July tube noisemaker craft for kids using chip canisters this independence day.

4th of July Tube Noisemaker Craft for Kids.

Supplies . For this craft you will need a tube or chip canister, paper and paints, craft glue and dried beans. You may also use ribbons, sequins, rhinestones or other items to decorate the noisemaker.

-chip canister, clean and dry OR paper towel tube

-paper or construction paper

-red, white and blue poster paints and brush

-craft glue

-handful or two of dried beans

-red, white and blue ribbons or other items to decorate

Instructions . Before beginning, cover your work area. I like to use those cheap disposable plastic table cloths so that glue and items don't stick as badly as with newspaper.

1) Have your child place a handful or two of dried beans in the chip canister. Use a small amount of craft glue around the edge of the lid that touches the sides of the can and secure in place. Allow to dry. If using a paper towel tube, cut two circles out of construction paper that are larger than the opening of the tube. Tape one circle securely over one opening, add the dried beans, then cover the other end with the second circle.

2) Cover the tube with paper, construction paper or even black and white newspaper, any material the child can paint over. Secure with glue and let dry.

3) Using red, white and blue poster paints, let your child paint stripes, stars or other designs on their noisemaker. Let the paint dry thoroughly if more decorations will be added.

4) If desired, let your child decorate the can further by gluing on ribbons, sequins, rhinestones, buttons or any other small craft items desired.
