5 Abandoned Movies that We're All Glad They Were Abandoned

5. Magneto (2009)

I'm sure at least some have seen X-Men. I'm sure most have seen X-Men 2. I'm sure most want to forget that X-Men 3: The Last Stand doesn't even exist. Also, I'm fairly sure all fans were outraged at X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

So, what of "Magneto"? It was planned by Bryan Singer after the success of X-Men 2, then further considered as excitement for Wolverine rose. But, now that critics have noted how all of the X-Men movies have deteriorated for the past decade, it's no wonder that it was canceled in 2009. It would have been the same origin story shtick for the metal-controlling villain, but meant to give proper credibility to what Magneto had gone through in his life. But, does that really matter? I mean, who else were they going to pick for the NEXT origin story? "Jubilee"?

4. Robocop (2009)

If anyone saw the original films (and only the first two, the third does not exist), you could understand why there would have been no point to remake Robocop. Supposedly, Darren Aronofsky was going to direct the movie, but rumors point to other directors. Even if they did put the film into pre-production, what would have been the reason? The dark satire that surges within the series was meant for its current time. It was a parody of how the 1980s had been, something that screenwriter Frank Miller tends to embellish himself in. Just keep Murphy disconnected, fellas.

3. Halo (?)

Ah, the curse of this video game series... It's a long story, but to shorten it, let's just say that Peter Jackson was really wanting to get Halo out there. However, the usual executive meddling from Hollywood clashed with the series' producers Bungie Studios. Arguments ensued and frustration was to be had. I'll just leave this one here because it really is best if people google the whole story about how Halo came to be a false pariah.

2. Spider-Man 4

Somewhat of a given as the previous film just really stunk of Venom-looking gunk. Sam Raimi shouldn't be forced to do multiple sequels of something that lost its heart. Actually, is anyone else noticing a pattern here? Superhero movies seems to deteriorate right around the 3rd movie. It happened to Batman, Superman, X-Men, and now Spider-Man. Even worse, the genre is starting to overfill with movies such as Green Lantern, Deadpool, Luke Cage, Namor, and so forth. Hollywood, take a break on superheroes. Just give us heroes.

1. Superman Lives

Oh my god, let's all be happy that this was never made. Directed by Tim Burton, it would have involved the whole "Doomsday" storyline, but with a LOT of changes. First of all, Superman would have fought a giant spider. I am totally serious. Also, Brainiac would have fought a polar bear. I know, it's completely sane, right? WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THOUGHT THIS WAS A GREAT IDEA?!

Well, apparently the producer of the movie, Jon Favreau, had this obsession with man-vs-nature situations. Of course, he also had no comprehension of Superman at all, had no idea of Superman's powers, and felt that Superman shouldn't wear a cape. Imagine this producer forcing Clerks-maker Kevin Smith to write a script for the film and you can imagine how freaked Smith was.

On a final note, let's all hope that all movie remakes will be immediately canceled. Hollywood needs better ideas than their old ones. Sorry, but they are broke. You need to fix them.
