5 Actors Who Could Replace Shia LaBeouf on 'Transformers'

Chris Houston

Shia LaBeouf isn't making any more "Transformers" movies. According to the Los Angeles Times, LaBeouf made it official that he is done with the movie series now that "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is complete. So who could possibly fill the void left by LaBeouf on the franchise for "Transformers 4?" The series went on without Megan Fox and offered up a replacement quite quickly. It doesn't seem as likely that "Transformers" would move on so brilliantly after the departure of the main star. That doesn't mean that other Hollywood actors won't be standing in line to fill the void left by Shia. Who would be an adequate replacement? Or does the "Transformers" franchise even need a big name star to proceed? These are all questions Michael Bay will probably have to answer before considering the addition of new movies to the franchise.

With that in mind, I've compiled a list of five potential replacements for LaBeouf.

1) Justin Bieber
Before any serious "Transformers" fans laugh this one off, think about the star potential and "Bieber Fever." Bieber could come aboard in some relationship to the LaBeouf character. What's important when thinking about Bieber for a potential "Transformers 4" sequel movie is that by the time filming begins he will be a young adult. That means he'd more than look the part. The only question with this choice is if Bieber can pull off the acting duties involved around a serious action flick. There's little question that the addition of Bieber would bring with it plenty of fans from different walks of life. This film wouldn't just be a "Transformers" movie if he were hired and that might be a negative to hiring the adorable YouTube sensation. I know it might sound odd to some but I think it's an idea that just might be crazy enough to work. Even if Bieber fails miserably, the visuals of the robots could carry the movie as it has in the past.

2) Taylor Lautner
Taylor Lautner could add his own collection of fans as the main star of the newest "Transformers 4" movie. Lautner has always played second fiddle to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the "Twilight" franchise. Perhaps one of his first ventures beyond that series would be with Michael Bay. Lautner could figure out a way to show off his "abs" and get his first deserved shot at being the male lead.

3) Jaden Smith
This star of "Karate Kid" could soon be following in the footsteps of his famous dad Will. Jaden Smith might be a bit young for the part now but as he continues to mature he might be an excellent fit for the franchise. Perhaps Michael Bay could swing an appearance by Will as his dad to help reboot the sequel. Imagine "Men In Black" meets "Transformers."

4) Jesse Eisenberg
If you are going to strike while the "iron is hot," Jesse Eisenberg might be the answer for the series. Eisenberg is a relatively well known commodity after his role in "The Social Network" drew rave reviews from critics. He also could be the perfect guy to look frazzled with giant "Transformers 4" fighting and falling everywhere.

5) Daniel Radcliffe
It might be tough to ever look at Radcliffe as anyone other than "Harry Potter." Michael Bay could go a long way in making Radcliffe get an image overhaul in this franchise action flick. Radcliffe would bring a ton of young fans from his days as "Harry Potter" and that would certainly provide a worthwhile boost for the series.

Those are five solid replacements for Shia LaBeouf in the "Transformers" sequel. It seems any of these talented young performers would bring an audience to the mix if selected for the part. It seems unlikely any additional "Transformers"sequels would include the same character LaBeouf portrays-but you never know. Selecting a well known star as a replacement might be the most crucial step in allowing the franchise to continue with the previous success.
