1. Steve Martin is long overdue for an Oscar. This actor can write movies and act in them. He also has played funny and touching characters on the silver screen. I love Steve Martin in the Father of the Bride movies. I believe that he is the funniest actor who hasn't won an Oscar. He could host the Oscars and win an Oscar on the same night. That would be a wild a crazy occurrence.
2. Anne Hathaway has been nominated for an Oscar. She has shown that she can play both sweet and gritty roles. She co-stared with both Julie Andrews in The Princess Diaries movies and Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. Anne held her own in both of these films. In addition, she has shown that she handles dramatic roles well. She is great in Love and Other Drugs. She is a versatile actress who will claim Oscar gold someday.
3. Johnny Depp is poised to win an Oscar soon. It seems that people like quirky characters in films. Johnny Depp is the king of quirky characters. He always plays those characters to a tee. He was born to play the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland . He played a pirate that can ride on my ship any day. Johnny Depp's quirky characters will equal Oscar success soon.
4. Jim Carrey may be an Oscar surprise. He has had some wonderful movies. He is fun; however, he has shown audiences his drama acting chops in The Truman Show. Also he did a good job acting in movies based on beloved Dr. Seuss books. Jim Carrey might be a "dark horse" Oscar winner.
5. Hugh Grant will be an international Oscar winner. He does mostly English films. Therefore, it seems like he will star in a period piece set in England that will get him an Oscar. He has won a Golden Globe and a Bafta. An Oscar is the next logical award that he would place on his fireplace. Hugh Grant will travel across the Atlantic Ocean to receive his Oscar someday.
The Oscars are coming soon to a television near you. The race for the golden statue is heating up. The movies that are the front-runners for Oscar gold involve a king, a ballerina, and the creation of a website that would change the world. However, there are many actors who haven't won an Oscar yet. There are many deserving actors who haven't got an Oscar. Two comedians, a princess, a pirate, and a international actor are on the short list to win an Oscar someday soon.
