There are not many desserts that are tastier than homemade ice cream. The container that many ice cream enthusiasts use to store homemade ice cream actually has a hole in the top (if it is the same container that the ice cream is mixed in there is a hole where the mixer goes). By covering the container with Saran Wrap before putting the lid on it will prevent crystallization in the ice cream. Those that don't make their own ice cream can still use this trick on a normal carton of ice cream from the grocery store, although crystallization will not be a big problem if the ice cream is eaten quickly.
Saran wrap is also valuable when painting. Just like with an ice cream container, paint can be preserved by putting saran wrap over a can of paint before closing the lid. Another way that saran wrap is useful when painting is saving a paintbrush for the next day. After painting all day the brush will be covered in paint. Instead of washing the paintbrush and getting it dirty again the next day, just wrap the paintbrush in saran wrap to keep the brush from getting paint all over the room.
Saran wrap can be a very useful tool when packing to move to a new home. Loose silverware can clank together if the packer does not pack it properly. The clanking could get real annoying or possibly even damage the silverware. Wrap saran wrap around a set of silverware to prevent them from clanking together.
Many garden utensils can be rough on the hands. A long day in the yard can result in blisters. Saran wrap can be the solution. Wrap some saran wrap around the handles of all the garden utensils and it will make the grip easier and make blisters a thing of the past.

Post a CommentThanks for the great ideas!! Have used the paintbrush trick before but never really thought about the paint can. Will use that on my upcoming projects.
