5 Bad Features that Make the Coby Kyros Tablet Not Worth Buying

The Worst Features of the Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet

Millionaire Hoy

Tablets are the latest tech craze and although you might be tempted to save a few bucks by opting for a budget tablet, following are several reasons to pass on the Coby Kyros internet touchscreen tablet.

Screen Quality and Response Time

While most modern tablets are going "big" with 10+inch touchscreen displays, the Coby Kyros tablet features a 7 inch touchscreen that leaves more than enough to be desired. Unlike virtually all other modern tablets on the market the Coby Kyros features a resistive touchscreen instead of a capacitive touchscreen display. Resistive touchscreens are less vibrant and responsive than capacitive touchscreens and makes the display of the Coby Kyros like that of a tablet from "yester-year".

Mediocre Hardware Specs

In addition to having an outdated touchscreen display, the Coby Kyros also has overall inferior hardware specs with an 800 MHz processor, 4GB of internal memory, 256MB of RAM, a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3600mAh battery. With the lacking hardware of the Coby Kyros, there's little incentive for anyone to opt for this mobile touchscreen tablet instead of choosing one of the other tablets on the market '" even after considering the price.

No Android Market

The Coby Kyros runs on Android 2.2, but before you get too excited, it doesn't support the Android Market. The lack of Android Market support for the Coby Kyros tablet, takes away the primary reasons for having a tablet that runs on Android 2.2 and really takes away from the users' overall experience on this internet touchscreen tablet.

Poor Camera Quality

At $300, it's a bit surprising that the Coby Kyros tablet features a camera at all, but after examining the Coby Kyros's front-facing camera, it's just about as good as having no camera at all. This tablet sports a paltry 2.1 megapixel front- facing camera that makes for horrible photos, has horrible placement, and is a big disappointment for tablet enthusiasts. In addition to having a poor front-facing camera, the Coby Kyros doesn't support a rear-facing camera.

Battery Life

Battery life is always an important feature of virtually any gadget that you're looking to invest in, but the battery life of the Coby Kyros tablet will always leave you wanting for more. At only 7 hours of max battery life, the Coby Kyros' battery pales in comparison to most modern tablets that promise 10+ hours of battery life.
