5 Bathroom Fans for the Consumer

Bathroom ventilation fans are a good investment in any home as they help eliminate fogged up windows, steamy mirrors and stale orders, but more importantly they help vent moist air outside in order to prevent mold and mildew from condensation (water vapors). The following five bathroom ventilation fans were based on ease of installation, price and efficiently as well as UL listing. These products can be found at any home improvement store such as Home Depot or Lowes. Note: these are not ranked in any particular order.

Hunter 90050 Spa Select High Performance Fan (Suggested Retail Price $38.00). Good for a medium sized room up to seventy-five square feet. Can be used over a shower stall. Has a moisture proof ABS plastic grill and housing unit. Can also help vent household chemicals orders and gases from hairspray and perfumes. Has a five year warranty.

Broan/Nautilus 678 50 CFM Bath Fan and Light Combo (Suggested Retail Price $40.00). Good for an area up to forty-five square feet. Comes with mounting ears for quick installation and/or replacement. The light runs a 100 watt light bulb (not included). The product comes with a one year warranty.

Hunter 82042 Energy Star Bathroom Light with Fan (Suggested Retail Price $189). One of the few Energy Star rated fans available on the market. Works well in an area up to one hundred square feet. Comes with two 18 watt florescent bulbs and a four watt nightlight. The housing is waterproof ABS plastic with a diamond cut light diffusing plate. Comes with a five year warranty.

Hunter 82032 Energy Star Bathroom Fan (Suggested Retail Price $141). One of the few Energy Star products on the market today especially made for the bathroom. Capable of venting a room that is one hundred square feet with very little to no noise. Comes with a five year warranty and with its ABS housing is easy to install.

Hunter 83001 Riazzi Bathroom Fan with Light and Nightlight (Suggested Retail Price $160). One of the few higher priced fans, but this fan is meant to be seen as it is cast with brushed nickel with a beaded design while showing off its cased glass light. Capable of venting a room up to one hundred square feet it low noise is sure to help light and vent at the same time. The product requires two sixty watt light bulbs as well as one seven watt nightlight. Like all Hunter products this fan also comes with a five year warranty and is easy to install.
