Milo and Otis
A story of friendship between a dog and a cat, Milo and Otis is a heartwarming pet story that gets cuter by the minute. This movie was actually made first in Japanese. When it was made for English speakers, narration was done by Dudley Moore. Milo and Otis is a movie of adventure and peril for a puppy and kitten friend on their search to find their way back home.
Oliver and Company
Oliver and Company is a Walt Disney film that came out in the late 80s. In this cat-related animated film, a kitten takes up with a bunch of dogs to survive the New York streets. Oliver, the kitten, is voiced by Joey Lawrence of Blossom fame, and Dodger, the leader of the dog gang, is voiced by Billy Joel.
The Aristocats
The Aristocats, also a Walt Disney film, is about a bunch of rich cats who have to ask alley cats for help in solving a mystery. The Aristocats is set in Paris, France, and was produced in English and French. The Aristocats is good for cat lovers who like animated films featuring fine cat breeds; it is also good for French speakers since the movie was made in French as well as English.
Garfield
If you have friends who love cats, they probably already read Garfield. Though the movie franchise doesn't have quite the same feel as the comic strip, it is chock full of cat humor. Garfield is a good family movie because it contains a great deal of loud, raucous physical humor that kids love. Garfield is a good choice if you are looking for a cat-themed movie that kids can watch, which Garfield fans will grudgingly enjoy.
Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third
Cat lovers will swoon over Puss in Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas in Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third. Shrek is an ogre who lives in a fantasy land where donkeys talk and cats wear boots. Shrek is a movie franchise that is fun for all ages, and the Puss in Boots character is sure to be a crowd pleaser for cat fans.

Post a CommentThe Aristocats is a 1970 Disney animated movie that would have been hard-pressed to include Sarah Silverman, who was born under a month before the release of the animated feature.
I like your other choices that I've seen, especially Milo & Otis which is mesmerizing and great. But I'm surprised you recommend Aristocats, not just because it is filled with filthy language and vile imagery, expecially the Sarah Silverman and Bob Saget parts, but because it has practically nothing about cats per se.
