1- It's Your Love- Tim McGraw
I guess I am partial to this song, because it's the one that me and the guy I love chose to be "our song" five years ago when we started dating. It tells an amazing story, though, about love and how it changes us, just does something to us. I love how it starts out talking about dancing, and every now and then, my boyfriend and I will stop wherever we are, and dance- just holding each other and being happy that we have someone to love.
2- Look At Me- Carrie Underwood
This is one of the newest songs out by Carrie Underwood on her recently released CD, Play On. I have already fallen in love with this song because it makes me smile thinking about the guy that I love. Everyone who is or has been in love knows that when the person you love looks at you, you can see in their eyes if they love you. Even though there are temptations and troubles in the world, the look from your lover's eyes is enough to tell you that you're the only one for them.
3- I Cross My Heart- George Straight
This is an amazing love song from George Straight. It's about a promise to the one you love that you will give everything you have for them. It discusses how no matter what life brings, happiness or heartache, you will be there for each other forever.
4- I Love the Way You Love Me- John Michael Montgomery
This has been one of my favorite songs since I was in third grade. I was always a huge fan of John Michael Montgomery and I even had the opportunity to meet him and get his autograph. I will write about that at a different time, though, so back to the song. This is one of the most tried and true songs out there. It's about loving somebody completely with all you have and loving the way that they love you back. You put your heart and soul on the line for someone, and when they return theirs, it's a love that is strong, true, and amazing.
5- I Thought I Loved You Then- Brad Paisley
This is an awesome love song that is so true for many of us in relationships. From personal experience, I can vouch that you may think you love someone at one point but after being with them for a longer time, you realize that what you once thought was love is so much stronger now. As I mentioned before, I started dating a guy five years ago, and though I thought I loved him a few months in, and I probably did, the love that I have for him now is so much more. You grow with a person and you experience so many things that make your love for them grow stronger.
Each of these songs talk about true love, a love that is strong and hopefully will last forever. I love to sit and listen to them, and think about the guy I love. Whether you have someone right now or not, you can still enjoy these songs- if you are in love, you can enjoy them through experience and know that the words they say are true for you. If you haven't found that special someone yet, you can listen to the words and be happy knowing that it lies in your future. I hope the words from these songs will impact your life as deeply as they have mine. I'm sure I'll be sending more love songs your way in the future, so keep an eye out!
