5 Best Places to Buy Halloween Costumes in Syracuse, New York

Party City has anything you could possibly want for Halloween. From costumes to candy, masks to decorations, this store has it all. They offer a wide assortment of costumes for both the young and old alike, and they even have costumes for pets. In addition to masks and costumes, they are offer a wide selection of costume accessories, including wigs, makeup, fake blood, fake teeth, fake weaponry (knives, axes, etc), hair, capes, fake flesh, etc. If you need it, chances are this store has got it, and the prices are very reasonable. There's something for everyone here.

This store is geared more towards adults, although they do have a small selection of children's costumes to choose from. Although Spencer's prices are a little bit steeper than other stores, their selection is definitely worth it. They have a particularly great selection of masks in an assortment of different monsters and movie characters. They also have awesome Halloween props, my favorite being the life-sized statue of Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. He comes complete with the chainsaw and would surely scare the pants off of any trick-or-treaters that came to your door. If you're looking for more of an adult selection, Spencer's is definitely the place for you, but be prepared to spend a good chunk of change.

This is another store that is geared toward the adult crowd. There are tons of great adult costumes to choose from, some rating from PG-13, others rating a strong R. If you don't have any children to buy for, and are looking for a costume for an adult party, or even if you're looking for a costume just for you and your spouse to enjoy, you may want to check this store out

Dougherty's Masquerade- 3011 Erie Blvd East, Syracuse, NY 13224, 315-445-0076

Although I have never personally shopped at this store, I have heard numerous great reviews about this place. They have a huge selection of just about every costume imaginable that you can rent for Halloween, as well as any other occasion. Although some previous customers have said that the prices are a little high compared to other stores, the selection and quality of the costumes is well worth the price tag in the end.

The Disney Store- Carousel Center, 9090 Carousel Center Drive, Syracuse, NY 13290 315-466- 7304

This is the best place to go if your kids are into Disney characters. They have just about every Disney character imaginable from Cinderella to Buzz Lightyear. Again, the prices can be a little high, but the quality of the costumes is worth it. Plus, seeing your little one dressed as Princess Jasmine or Cowboy Woody is priceless.
