Dojo is down to only 1 location in New York City now so get it while it lasts. This Japanese inspired cuisine offers tons of options on their menu under $10. Located in the West Village near NYU Dojo attracts a large college crowd. The food is great, cheap, and comes in large portions. The best thing about Dojo is their carrot ginger dressing for their salad. 2 of the best and cheapest things on the menu are the soy burger, and veggie burger. They are served with a small salad, ginger dressing, in a pita and with brown rice. Delicious and healthy and under $10.00
Bamn
Back in the day there was the Auto-mat in New York City. Now the East Village has recreated that feeling with Bamn. It is comfort food sold in individual slots. You put the change in and open the door and your food is waiting for you. Food ranges from burgers, and chicken sandwiches, to grilled cheese, and corn dogs. Don't forget dessert they have custard, cookies, and brownies. All items are under $3 so you can get a few and still be under $10.00
Dallas BBQ's
Located throughout New York City Dallas BBQ's has some great deals. Most of the regular menu is below $10.00 but their early bird special is really where it is at. For $9.99 2 people can eat here before 6pm. Each person gets a chicken vegetable soup and a rotisserie half chicken served with cornbread and a choice of baked or hand cut French-fried Idaho potatoes. That is 2 meals for under $10.00
Gray's Papaya
Located throughout New York City Gray's Papaya is a staple for New Yorkers. Their recession special changes prices but usually for under $5 you can get 2 hot dogs and 1 of their famous papaya drinks. There are many imitators around the city and some are pretty good but none beat Gray's Papaya. They are yummy hot dogs and great drinks and some locations even have seating. Here you can get a great meal for under $10.00
Prosperity Dumpling
Located in Chinatown in New York City Prosperity is a great place for cheap food. Here you can get 5 dumplings (fried, or boiled) for just $1. They also have amazing sesame pancakes for.75 each. Most of the things on the menu range between $1 and $3 so you can get 2 people filled up for less than $10.00 and still have room and money for dessert.
