5 Best Waiver Wire Pickups; Week 6 NFL Fantasy Football Free Agents

Michael Luchies
This list is wide receiver heavy, as there are many great WR pickups to go after for this week. Other recommendations; QB- Culpepper/Stafford (against Green Bay), Delhomme (against Tampa, then drop him) RB-Jonathan Stewart (against Tampa) WR- Andre Caldwell (against Houston) TE- Shiancoe,Shockey or Scheffler. D- Jaguars (v. St. Louis), Carolina (v. Tampa Bay).

#5. Mike Wallace-WR Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns
The Steelers have been completely unable to run the ball so far this season, and although they may have success against the Browns, expect another big day from Big Ben. Wallace is the Steelers third option and scored last week against the Lions. If your lineup is really hurting due to bye weeks, Wallace isn't a bad play.

#4. Donnie Avery- WR St. Louis Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Avery is finally healthy and had a solid game last week against the Vikings. Avery had 5 catches for 87 yards and a touchdown in week 5. Against the Jaguars, Avery should end up just as good or even better against a mediocre Jacksonville defense. The Rams should be down early once again, so expect them to air it out early and often, and Avery is the primary target.

#3. Nate Burleson-WR Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals
Burleson is hot property this week but still available in half of ESPN leagues. Burleson nearly reached the 100 yard mark and scored two touchdowns against the Jaguars last week. He looks like Hasselbecks guy even over TJ Housh. Burleson is a keeper for the rest of the year, pick him up even if you dont need him this week.

#2. Sammy Morris-RB New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans
Morris is owned by less than 40% of ESPN leagues, but with Fred Taylor out in New England, he is their best option. Morris had over 60 yards rushing and a pair of catches against a stingy Denver defense. Morris should have around 80 yards and a touchdown against the Titans and is a great play for week 6.

#1. Jeremy Maclin-WR Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders

This is a no brainer, and if you don't act soon you may be forced to replace a bye week receiver with a less attractive option. Maclin finally broke out with over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns last week. Although I'm not sure how he will do the rest of the season battling Desean Jackson and other wideouts for receptions, he's a great play for week 6 against a decimated Raiders team.
