Eyeballs - Bunches of grapes and strawberry Jell-O is all you need to create this classic gross Halloween treat. Take the grapes off the stems and wash well. Store them on the counter in a bowl while you prepare the Jell-O. Follow the package directions on the Jell-O but add an extra ½ cup water to the mix. This will allow the Jell-O to set just enough to stick to the grapes and give them that slimy feel. Pour the Jell-O over the grapes and refrigerator for at least two hours. Stir the grape mixture just before serving. Remember - no utensils - just hands!
Worms - Many recipes for gross Halloween treat worms say to use boxed pasta. The worms I have touched in my life are far thicker than any boxed pasta so you need to create fresh pasta in a wormy shape. Paste dough is made up of flour, salt, eggs and oil. Place 4 cups of pasta flour in a bowl and add salt. Mix thoroughly before adding two tablespoons of oil and six eggs. Knead the dough for 10 minutes then wrap in plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rest on the counter for 25 minutes before creating your worms.
To create worms, pinch a small bit of the dough and roll on the counter in a tube shape. Drop the worms in boiling water for up to seven minutes or until they float. Toss the worms with more oil and a bit of seasoning. You do want the kids to eat the worms after all.
Fingers - Everyone wants to munch on some classic gross Halloween treats that look like fingers. This is one of the easiest treats to create. With store bought sugar cookie dough, shape the dough in the shape of a finger. Press an almond into the dough on one end to create the look of a fingernail and baked according to dough directions. You can even use black and red icing to gross up the fingers even more.
Brainy Meatballs - Brains are a highlight of the classic gross Halloween treats. Even the nastiest parties have to provide a good source of protein. To create brainy meatballs, place ground turkey in a bowl and mix with your favorite spices. Shape the ground turkey into small brain shapes and bake until completely cooked. Right before the party, defrost very small frozen shrimp and mix with ketchup to coat. Place the small shrimp on the meatballs and arrange them to look like the folds in the brain. Squirt more ketchup on top to finish the brainy meatball masterpiece.
Sewer Water Punch - Kids having a party with classic gross Halloween treats need to drink, so why not serve them some gross sewer water. In a clear punch bowl, pour Dr. Pepper soda and orange juice and mix until the color matches sewer water. To make the punch even more appealing, spray the outside of small Mason jars with a bit of cooking spray and coat with brown cookie crumbs. The jars will look like they are covered in dirt while being filled with sewer water punch.
