5 Creative Games College Kids Play: No Drinking or Smoking Necessary

These are some games that I have either participated in or watched. All these games are fun and do not involve drinking or need for the cops to be called.

1. The Gauntlet - This game is fun if you have a large group of people. You split up into however many teams you want. Then someone on that team holds a huge water balloon. People stand on either side of a parallel line. Each person on "The Gauntlet" is holding a pillow. The person holding the water balloon has to run through "The Gauntlet" and get wacked by the pillows. If the balloon bursts then that team doesn't get any points. However, if the runner does make it through then his/her team gets 1 point. We usually had a prize for the winning team at the end. This game is really fun, and will get people extremely wet.

2. Spoon Slap Game - This game is for two males. Each male is given a wooden spoon. They will stand about 2 feet apart. Holding the spoon in their right hands they will only have the mobility of their elbows. In a sort of chopping motion, one male will hit the other with only the power of his elbow. NO wrist action or body action is allowed. Also, no hitting bone, hitting the chest is the only body part allowed to be hit. After the first male strikes the other, then that male is given the opportunity to strike the first male. The game continues until one of the males either; makes a sound that indicates pain, or voluntarily walking away.

3. Welt Ball - This game requires a ping pong table. Using as many people as you would like you play running ping pong. Whereas, the players at the table hit the ball then rotate around while the ball is in play. Whoever is responsible for the ball falling off the table gets welted by the person opposite the table. To be welted, one must lift their shirt over their head and turn around. The player doing the welting stands on the opposite side of the table and bounces the ball once then baseball bat style, slams the ball across the table hitting the other person in the back. This will hurt for only a second and leave a nice round welt. Then the shirt is put down and the game continues.

4. Conch - All that is necessary for this game is a sleeping bag and either a magazine or newspaper. One person will then huddle in the fetal position on the ground with their back facing up. They will then have either a blanket or sleeping bag placed over them so they cannot see. All the other players will then stand around this lucky individual and pass around the rolled up newspaper. The paper will stop at a person and with a mighty whack hit the individual underneath the blanket. Then the paper will be passed around a little more. Then the person underneath the blanket/ sleeping bag will then have the opportunity to look up and take a guess as to who just hit him. If the person that was hit guesses correctly then that person must go under the blanket. However, if he guesses wrong, he must go back down and receive another hit. What makes this game extremely fun is the fact that the person under the blanket doesn't know when he is getting hit. Therefore, it is really funny to just hold the suspense for awhile until someone hits the poor soul.

5. Russian Jumping Game - This game is usually played with three teams. From 6 to 10 people on each team. One team will lock up in a straight line. The whole team will be bent in a right angles holding onto one another's stomachs. With their heads hanging to the side. This might sound a little gay, but it is necessary. The second team will determine who the best jumper is. That person will then run and jump onto the backs of the first team. Trying to jump as far as he/ she can jump. The jumper will then hold onto whoever he/she have just jumped onto and try to collapse the straight line. The second team will continue to send jumpers until either, 1. Team two runs out of players or 2. Team one falls to the ground. Teams gain points by the number of people they can amass on top of another team. If team one holds and everyone on team two is on top of them without falling, team one gets 10 points. If team one falls down, team two gets the points for the number of players still left to jump. Three teams are usually needed. After team one jumps on team two and a victor is decided, then team two will jump on team three, and so on. The 10 points is considering that 10 people are on each team. If that number is different, then the scores will be different.

I hope that people will try out some of these games. I know that I have enjoyed watching and playing them. Just remember to keep it safe though. Thanks
