Lord of the Rings Conquest (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, DS)
This repetitive hack and slash game lacked any challenge. The bigger enemies such as Trolls were fairly easy to take down, sometimes with a single hit. The glitches in the game could make boss battles a breeze. A.I. enemies would walk off high cliffs and die. Also annoying was the in game announcer constantly yelling out tips. Conquest could have been a challenging game, instead it was a too easy disappointment.
Gungrave (PS2)
Grave has a ton of high powered weapons like rockets, guns that never need to be reloaded, and a coffin on his back you can melee with. The enemies presented little challenge, especially since Grave has a shield that recharges. It's easy to let the shield recharge as the enemies do little damage anyway. They're no match for Grave's arsenal of weapons and the game's auto targeting system. Saving also makes the game very easy because of checkpoints with unlimited continues that pop up every few minutes. Even if you do manage to die, you don't need to repeat any level. It's a great looking game that shouldn't have been so easy.
Star Fox Adventures (GameCube)
The video game is on the easy side, but it's a longer experience with plenty of exploration. The combat in the game is easy to get the hang of and pretty straightforward. Fox has a staff and by pushing a few buttons, he does combos. The puzzles in the game don't require much thinking to figure out. Slippy and Peppy will give tips and show you the map when asked. There are plenty of save points in the game so you don't lose progress. Health items are all over and it's easy to stay alive. Star Fox Adventures is a fun game, but not much of a challenge to experienced players.
Yoshi's Story (N64)
Players wanted a solid sequel to Super Mario World Yoshi's Island. Instead, they got a short, very easy game. Each of the levels could be beaten in minutes. Only a handful of the levels were actually needed to complete the game. It feels like a stripped down Yoshi's Island. The only thing Yoshi needs to do to finish a level is eat pieces of fruit. Some fruit give a higher score, but any fruit will do in the end. It's repetitive, too easy, and not challenging. It's still a great looking and fun game, just don't expect any sweaty palms.
Luigi's Mansion (GameCube)
With a flashlight and vacuum cleaner, Luigi goes from room to room ridding the house of ghosts. The variety of different enemies is a nice touch, but the game suffers from being too easy. Most rooms just require Luigi to point the flashlight at the ghost and then suck them up. A few rooms have puzzles that need to be solved before the ghost can be dealt with. Unfortunately, the puzzles are simple and there are too few of them. The game is different and fun, but it would have been better if there was more challenge. It also needed more exploration without the feeling you were being lead everywhere.
