Christmas is a fun time of year for any child but if you have a girl, you might want to consider making it extra special in a way that will make the holiday one she'll truly enjoy with more personalized attention. There are several things that you can do to make Christmas special. This article will help you narrow down your choices by detailing the top five easy choices to consider. Whether you do one or five, it will surely be a Christmas she'll never forget.

#1: Decorate Her Room with a Christmas Theme

A very special thing to do for the girl in your life is to decorate her room in a Christmas theme of her choice. If she loves Barbie Dolls, buy some holiday Barbie's and place them around the room. If she's into princesses, opt for a royal theme in Christmas colors. You can buy a small Christmas tree to liven up her room with a set of lights that she can use as a nightlight at bedtime.

#2: Special PJ's

One of my favorite traditions as a girl was that I got a new pair of pajamas each Christmas Eve. You can buy your daughter a pair of PJ's that have a holiday theme. She'll enjoy wearing them the rest of the year and will remember the tradition that you started for her when she is an adult.

#3: Arrange a Personal Visit with Santa

Many cities now have personal Santa service. Check your phone book or inquire at your local newspaper to see if there is a Santa Claus that will come to your home for a personal visit with the kids of your family. When I was a child, my Mom arranged for such a visit and I'll never forget the Christmas that Santa and Mrs. Claus came right to my home.

#4: Bake Cookies

My favorite childhood memory was baking cookies with my Mom and Grandma. Your little girl will get lots of enjoyment from special baking time of holiday cookies. Make some gingerbread cookies but instead of men, make them girls. Use frosting to match your daughter's hair color and the clothes she is wearing. Have her do one that looks like you then sneak off to eat them while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate.

#5: Christmas Movie Night

To celebrate the Christmas season, pick a night that is close to Christmas and rent several Christmas themed movies. Make sure to let your daughter help pick the movies so it will be more special to hear. Let her pick a few Christmas treats to enjoy as you're watching the movies.
