5 Easy Ways to Prevent Bad Breath

Lee Andrew Henderson
Bad Breath can be an embarrassing hinder to your social life. Co-workers, family, friends and especially significant others will not want to be around someone with bad breath. Bad breath occurs in the mouth when protein and sugar are broken down into volatile sulphur compounds. These compounds emit an odor that is not very pleasant. Fortunately there are many ways to get rid of bad breath.

Oral Hygiene
Obviously it is important to have a good oral hygiene. It is recommended that everyone brush and floss their teeth two times a day. It is also important to clean the tongue because it is one of the most common places to find bacteria in the mouth. It is possible to have good oral hygiene and still have bad breath but obviously that is no reason to stop brushing and flossing.

Diseases
If oral hygiene is not a problem but bad breath is still being experienced then the problem could be an actual disease. Anyone suffering from bad breath should check with a dentist to see if they are suffering from gum disease or candida infection. If one of these diseases is present then eliminating the bad breath could be as easy as treating the diseases.

Crisps Fruits and Vegetables
If the bad breath problem is not due to oral hygiene or disease then try fighting it simply by eating better. Eating fruits and vegetables that are crisp can help bad breath because chomping on those crisp fruits and vegetables will remove the plaque and food particles from the teeth. Eating crispy fruits and vegetables will also provide more saliva, which well help to clean the teeth.

Water
Add good breath as one of the billions of reasons why everyone should drink water. When someone drinks water it creates a better environment for the bacteria in the mouth. Water is easily the best way to prevent bad breath because it isn't expensive and it doesn't taste gross.

Gum
There are many folks that just enjoy having something in their mouth for most of the day. Usually the object of choice is chewing gum. It is best to not chew any gum at all but anyone that insists on chewing bubble gum should be sure to chew sugarless gum. The sugar in gum is easily broken down into bacteria that will cause a bad stench in your mouth.
