5 Emergency Flirting Techniques

Getting noticed at a party could be easier for some but, a never-ending struggle for others.

It could be because some are really not so blessed with the looks and others seem to be just real head-turners. But, what the unsuccessful ones might be missing, this can actually be remedied. Looks do count but, flirting does require some skills and attitude too.

I remember when I was on my early twenties. I was a correspondent back then at one expats' weekly magazine in Manila.

My friends (all former co-workers at one tabloid that I used to write for) and I agreed to meet at one music bar where we used to hang-out at night and so we did. But, when we are already sitting, all of them seemed to have partnered with the men of one famous band that time. And so, when the guys finished their first show that night and went down the stage, all my friends are all gone too. I was left all by myself in a crowd of drinking men and I really felt so alone and abandoned. But, as pessimistic as always, I told myself that I got to do something. So, when the host called for contestants for their tongue twist contest, I raised my hand immediately and next thing my friends knew, I was already on stage and rocking the crowd. I won the contest, brought a pitcher of beer and some other freebies on our table and so with almost everyone's attention that night. That very moment taught me that in the world of flirting, confidence is such one gigantic factor.

1. Having the confidence can bring out that sex appeal in you. When you exude confidence, you would automatically radiate and shine in the crowd.

You can't talk to everybody at the same time, but your gestures, your posture, how you smile and how you carry yourself can make you stand out from the crowd.

2. Smile. Smile could invite attention; could convey a message; could project an image, so, don't forget to bring lots of them.

3. Eye Contact. Make an eye contact with the person you want to flirt with. It signals your prospect of your openness and interests. Don't forget to give a second glance too, for that will most likely confirm your interest to the person.

4. Let your legs do the talking. The position and angles of one's legs when standing implies his/her character. According to body language experts women who stand not more than 6 inches apart and slightly tip-toed conveys of her domineering character, which most men hates. For men it ranges from 6 to 10 inches to promote the signs of dominance, which in contrast is always intriguing for women.

But, when, a woman who is sitting and is flirting crosses her legs, it gives the green signal right away for her target to know that she's open. And when her legs wiggle, oh that's it! She just can't wait!

5. The final touch. For men, they can be tapped on the shoulders; gently feeling their shoulders with a quick caress is very effective. For women, please guys, no tapping of butts, that's totally disgusting and embarrassing! Not unless, you want to get some good slaps on your cheeks. A gentle brush of your fingers on woman's elbow could make her feel you like her yet, your being gentle and that you respect her.

So, regardless of your gender, these five tips are very universal, keep them in mind and practice them often as you go out, mingle and party, while you're looking for that someone special. Avoid overdoing things, it's a turn-off and could annoy your prospects.

You don't have to look like any Hollywood stars to gain the attention of the opposite sex. Just make it a point to feel best, for you to think best and smile, to look best!
