1. Jerabek's New Bohemian Coffeehouse
Located on 63 Winifred St W, Saint Paul, MN

Jerabek's New Bohemian Coffeehouse is a mighty jewel of a bakery on St. Paul's South Side. Inside the wondrous place is a huge assortment of pastries, quiches, sandwich's, and soup. All homemade built out of pure atoms from the expansive bakery center behind the counter. Jerabek's is the place to try. The atmosphere is hip and happening, making any newcomer feel like they're on the fringe of some artistic masterpiece. The staff is friendly and the food is affordable. Item to try: Anything with the word "Quiche" in it, best homemade quiche I have ever tasted.

2. Wuollet's Bakery
Located on 1080 Grand Avenue, Saint Paul, MN

If Jerabek's is the crazy younger sibling of the two bakeries, Wuollet's would most definitely be the serious older brother. Fashioned like any new age coffee shop with a few fancier design qualities Wuollet's has a little something for everyone behind their hallowed glass case. They're not solitary in location but spread throughout both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Everything there fulfills the delicious quota but I would stick to anything sweet, that appears to be their specialty. Homemade cakes are excellent as well. The price and staff are just icing on the cake. Item to try: Anything with the word "cupcake" in it, a wide variety of cupcakes for all pleasures.

3. Trung Nam French Bakery
Located on 739 University Avenue West, Saint Paul, MN

To get the true variety of places that St. Paul has to offer a quick stop must be made over to Trung Nam French Bakery on University Avenue. Once a proud spawn of some fast food franchise the old building has now been converted to this delightful Vietnamese bakery. The odd design even allows you to utilize the drive up for quick pick up. Here you will find the most delicious Vietnamese sandwich's and French Croissants in town along with Pho, spring rolls, and other Vietnamese delicacies. A must have experience in Frog town on any day of the week. Staff is awkward but the prices are dirt cheap. Item to try: Anything associated with "Vietnamese Sandwich", they easily have the freshest sandwich's in town.

4. P J Murphy's Bakery
1279 Randolph Avenue, Saint Paul, MN

Through this host of bakeries I am discussing, a mention to P J Murphy's Bakery on Randolph must be included. A small town bakery within a big town location, P J Murphy's Bakery features a wide arrange of your standard bakery fare with a tasty twist. Here you have a warm environment of a bakery right on the fringe of downtown St. Paul. Its a convenient place to stop before you begin a morning or day sightseeing in the city. It literary has all your baking desires. P J Murphy's is especially charming during Christmas with their unique holiday designs of candy stained glass on everything they produce. Item to try: Anything associated with the word "cookies", which are unique and delicious.

5. Don Pochos
140 Concord St. St. Paul , MN 55107

Last but not least in this chain of bakeries is Don Pochos in West St. Paul. A small and locally operated bakery that sells a little bit of everything but is specific to Latin culinary specialties that bring new meaning to the word "rich" and "sweet". Seldom can you resist buying just one Churro, but also Bollos and cookies. They also offer special order cakes for any celebration. Also to be had is some of the cities best Flan unique to Don Pochos. But all in all the one delicacy you want to have when visiting Don Pochos is the Tres Leches cake. Don Pochos is an excellent bakery with a multitude of things to devour on your visit to St. Paul. Item to try: Anything associated with the words "Tres Leches", you are also able to add your own fruit topping to it as well.
