5 Family Friendly and Fun Denver Attractions Under $25

Are you planning a trip to Denver, Colorado and wonder what you can do while you are here? There are plenty of great things to do and see in Denver without breaking your budget. Here are some great Denver attractions you can visit for under $25 apiece!

Denver Zoo: The Denver Zoo is a great family-friendly attraction to visit while you are visiting Denver. You can visit the zoo year-around for $12 or under per person, depending on the time of year and age.

Denver Zoo houses hundreds of animals of all different species. Not only will you and your family enjoy looking at all the animals the Denver Zoo has, but you will also enjoy learning about each animal at its location. Animals you can see at the Denver Zoo include, but are certainly not limited to: bears, such as Asiatic Black bears and grizzly bears, camels, including Bactrain Camels and Dramedary Camels, zebras, lions, tigers, jaguars, bats, hyenas, reptiles and amphibians, fish, including clown fish, Pacu, and lionfish, birds, such as American flamingos, African penguins, bald eagles, and Fairy bluebirds, and plant life. The Denver Zoo also offers shows and feedings to watch, concession stands to eat at, plenty of benches to rest on, a carousel, and train rides.

Zoo hours are as follows: April 1st to October 31st 9am-5pm, November 1st to March 31st 10am-4pm. Children two years of age and younger can enter the zoo for free, 3-11-year-olds can enter the zoo for $5-7 apiece, 12-64 year olds may enter the zoo for $9-12 each, and seniors 65 and over can be admitted for $7-9 each, depending on the time of the year.

Denver Botanic Gardens: Denver Botanic Gardens is another Denver attraction you can go to for under $25 per person. In fact, adults (individuals aged 16 and older) can be admitted to the Gardens for $10.50. Seniors and visitors with military ID can be admitted for $7.50 each, students with ID and children 4-15 years old can be admitted for $6.00, and children 3 and under get in for free.

Denver Botanic Gardens is a beautiful place with hundreds of plants and flowers. My personal favorite places in the Denver Botanic Gardens are the Scripture Garden and the Rose Garden.

This attraction is a family-friendly place to spend time; you can enjoy the beautiful flowers and plants, learn about where they typically grow, and enjoy the unique architecture and waterfalls among the gardens. There are also concession stands where you can enjoy food and beverages and benches where you can take a rest.

Denver Botanic Gardens is open May 12 through September 14 on Saturday through Tuesday 9am-8pm and Wednesday through Friday 9am-5pm. Children's Museum of Denver: If you have kids, visiting the Children's Museum of Denver on your visit would be a great way to spend time. This is another Denver attraction you can go to for under $25 per person. Infants one year of age or under get into the museum free. Children aged 1-2 and seniors over the age of 60 are admitted to the museum for $5.50 each. Children over the age of 2 and adults up to age 59 are admitted for $7.50 apiece.

The Children's Museum of Denver offers several areas where children can learn while having fun with activities that stimulate physical and mental activity. Playscapes include Alphabet Soup where kids can play with big magnetic letters on magnetic walls, Ready Vet Go, where kids can care for animals, Click Clack Train Track, where kids can put together their unique train tracks and Arts a la Carte, where kids can let their imaginations run wild while they act, sing dance, draw, and engage in other artistic activities.

Some of the playscapes are only for children ages 4-8 years old, and include The Assembly Plant, where children can put together things with tools made out of recycled household items and Under My Feet & Over My Head where kids can interact with different kinds of living things.

Denver Art Museum: If you enjoy art, you might want to visit the Denver Art Museum, yet another Denver attraction costing under $25 per person to visit. Children five years of age and under can get into the art museum for free. College students and seniors aged 65 and older may be admitted for $10 each. Adults over the age of 18 can be admitted for $13, and children and teens aged 6-18 may be admitted for $5 each.

Art collections in the Denver Art Museum include American Indian Art, Western American Art, Asian Art, Architecture Design and Graphics, Pre-Columbian Art, Textile Art, European and American Art, and much more! The Art Museum also has activities for children, which change from month to month.

It is important to note the Denver Art Museum offers free wheelchair usage, family restrooms, and stroller usage within the museum, which will help accommodate all of your specific needs. The Denver Art Museum is located at: 100 14th Avenue Parkway, Denver, CO 80204. Their hours are Sundays noon-5pm, Tuesdays through Thursdays 10am-5pm, Friday 10am-10pm, and Saturday 10am-5pm. Mr. Bigg's: Mr. Bigg's, formerly known as Fat City, is another great attraction to visit while visiting Denver for under $25 apiece. Prices are dependent on one's age and the amount of time you want to spend at Mr. Bigg's - two-hour pass or all day pass.

Mr. Bigg's includes several family-friendly activities, such as a Grand Prix Raceway, where you can drive cars that can go up to 40 miles per hour and race your family and friends, laser tag, bowling, an indoor mini-golf course, arcade, bounce house, twister ride, and a three-story foam ball factory. Mr. Bigg's also offers several themed rooms where kids can let their imaginations run wild, such as the Princess Dress Shop, Bakery, Mine Shaft, Police Station, and Scottie's Toy Castle.

Mr. Bigg's hours are as follows: Sunday through Thursday 11am-10pm and Friday and Saturday from 11am-12am. Bowling has slightly different hours, which are Sunday through Thursday 11am-12am, Friday 12am-1am, and Saturday 10am-1am. For more information, please visit: www.biggcity.net.
