5 Favorite Sports Movies

Across the nation, there are many sports movies that are released each year. Some sport movies are successful while others aren't. Over the years I have had the opportunity to enjoy some amazing sports movies. My top five sports movies as are Ali, Rocky, The Mighty Titans, The Jesse Owens Story, and Love and Basketball.

The first movie on my list is Ali. In this film, actor, Will Smith played the leading role of Mohammad Ali. This movie goes into detail of the former Heavy Weight Boxing Champion in the World. Will Smith did an outstanding job of bringing, the former heavy with to life on screen.

The second movie on my list is Rocky. Rocky is an all time classic sports movie. I grew up watching all of the Rocky movies. The main character, Rocky, was played by Sylvester Stallone. Rocky is about a struggling boxer who works hard to become successful. This movie is filled with both action and drama; it is a movie that stirs the emotions and reveals the inspirational lesson that through hard work and determination you can make it.

Another sports movie that is on my list is The Might Titans. The Mighty Titans is a great football movie for the family. It is a movie that is based on a true story. This movie captures a moment in history in which football bridges the gap of racial intolerance and prejudice.

The fourth sports film on my list is The Jesse Owens Story. I love this movie because it depicts the life of the famous runner, Jesse Owens. Jesse Owens was on of the first African Americans to run in the Olympics. He participated in the Olympics during a time in which African Americans were discriminated against. Jesse Owens helped opened up the doors for minorities to be able to run track in the Olympics. This is a must see movie for the family.

Love and Basketball is the last sports movie on my list; this movie is last but not least. This is my most favorite sports movie of all time. In this movie, a boy and girl grew up together and shared the love basketball together; the main characters' friend grew into love during their young adult years. The main characters are played by Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan. The actors did a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life. Love and Basketball is a dramatic love story that highlights the passion of being a professional basketball player
