5 Feel-Good Games to Play by Yourself

No Money Required, No Technology Needed

Regina Sunderland
Another day has come and you are just not feeling in the mood for anything. Perhaps you woke up sad, lonely and a bit out of sorts with yourself and the world today. You don't have to stay that way today, but can let your heart swell up with happiness and love with these 5 simple feel good games you can play by yourself.

The Awards!

Make up 10 Awards you want to give out today and find the lucky Winners. Each Award needs to be something positive and make you feel happy to discover its Winner. My personal favorites:

The Best Smile Award (Who or what made me smile the most today?)

The brightest Color Award (Which was the brightest color you encountered today?)

The Silliest Moment Award (What was the silliest thing you witnessed today?)

The nicest smile Award (Who gave you the nicest smile today?)

You get the point don't you? Each of these things are making you feel happy, positive and much better. If you have kids you may want to let them in on the fun too. Ask them to help you make up a few Awards as well and then you all can go to hunt for the perfect contestants.

My Word!

Nothing makes me feel better then learn something new so on the days I have to blues I try to go out and learn at least one new Word. The only Rule it has to be something positive! That way I focus myself on the wonderful and positive meaning of my new Word. Find out everything there is to know about that word. Where did it originate? Make up a silly song about that song. Yes, you may feel a bit silly, but isn't that better then feeling gloomy?

Dress up!

Don't wave it away that quickly. It worked for you when you were a little kid didn't it? Make up your own personal Super Hero today and become it. I want you to remember what it felt like to be a small carefree child and once again go back to make believe. You can be grown up later!

Count your positive points!

Do you have a small mirror near by you can take a look in? If yes, would you please go get it and open it up? If not you have to do this after you are done reading. I want you to look at the lovely person inside that mirror. Do you see how amazing this person is? Do you see how beautiful the eyes are? How talented that person is? You get the point. I want you to find as many positive points as possible about that wonderful human being in that mirror looking back at you. You are not allowed to put any part of you down. What are your special talents? What are your special achievements? What is the best feature about you? Can you list at least 10 good things right now?

The day I ...

I want you to remember a very special and happy day in your life and retell yourself the story of this wonderful day. If you have a journal and a bit of time, write it down. Don't forget a single glorious detail. I want you to put everything in, all the smells, the colors, the feelings, everything.

By the time you have played one or all of these Games with yourself you should be feeling a lot happier. Give yourself a big smile and a hug! You are simply amazing!
