5 Foods that Will Help You Live Forever

l
Everyone knows the basic fundamentals of a healthy diet. Certain foods, however, should be included in your diet everyday. These foods guarantee health and happiness in many different ways.

Lemon
Lemons carry various antibacterial and antiviral properties. They contains high amounts of vitamin C and can boost your immune system. Lemons have positive effects on both your digestive and immune system. Uses for lemons include cooking, dressings/marinades, and lemonade. To spruce up your lemonade, add rose water, its commonly used in the middle east and has a delightful, refreshing taste. Another tip, when your sick or starting to feel so, eat a whole lemon (or as much as you can), be sure to eat the peel as well, it contains essential oils.

Garlic
Garlic also has antibacterial and antiviral agents, which can help you fight a cold or flu. Garlic is high in vitamin C and B6. Studies show that it protects against cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Garlic can be used on anything and everything- that is, if you don't mind bad breath. Garlic adds flavor to ever dish and sauteed garlic is delicious just by itself. My personal favorite is the roasted garlic clove. Just cut of the top end, sprinkle with salt, pepper and oil, and pop in the oven. After its cooked, spread on toasted bread, its amazing!

Yogurt
Yogurt is nutritious and rich in calcium, protein, potassium, and vitamin B. Yogurt also has cancer fighting properties while also boosting your immune system. It prevents yeast infections and bad breath. Yogurt can help you lose weight while maintaining muscle. Yogurt is not only good by itself, it can also be used in smoothies and in many meals. Try making a cucumber yogurt salad, or a yogurt sauce for chicken and rice. I even substitute spaghetti sauce with yogurt- it's a middle eastern thing, and its actually very good, add ground beef, parsley, and garlic. Next time you have a craving for ice cream, grab the frozen yogurt instead.

Olive Oil
Olive oil is an excellent source of mono saturated fats, which lowers bad cholesterol and raises good cholesterol. Its lowers the chances of heart attacks, diabetes, and cancer. Olive oil is full of antioxidants and is an excellent replacement for unhealthy saturated fats like butter. Olive oil contains vitamin E, which is good for your skin, hair and nails. It delays the looks of aging and also improves your sex life. Olive oil can be used for marinades, and to cook, bake, saute, and fry. It is also a good substitute for creamy dressings and compliments just about everything.

Pomegranate
Pomegranate is a fruit that has been around since the beginning of time. It is extremely high in antioxidants and helps maintain cardiovascular health. Its rich in Vitamin C, folic acid, fiber, and niacin. Although it recently became popular here in the US, it has been used in Middle Eastern, Iranian, and Indian cuisine for centuries. Common uses are juices, sauces, jellies, and syrups.

A healthy diet always includes all of the food groups. These foods are the highest in nutrition of their food groups and should be incorporated into your meals daily. Eating foods rich in antioxidants and vitamins can help ward off sickness while keeping your body strong and resilient.
