5 Foods that Will Keep You Full

Stay Full While Eating Less

Jim Kelly
How full are you after a huge Thanksgiving meal? It probably feels like you'll never be able to stuff another morsel of turkey, stuffing, ham, cranberry sauce, or apple sauce into your stomach again. You just want to lay down, go to sleep, and not wake up until next week. The full feeling you got was because you ate so much, kind of like after you had that third cheese steak at the Phillies game last week. That full feeling isn't the good full feeling. The good full feeling is knowing you don't have to eat for awhile after you just had very little of something very good. Here are five foods that will make you feel this way:

1. Apples - Apples contain 5g of fiber and it fills up the stomach longer. An apple a day truly will keep the doctor away, or a few numbers off your scale.

2. Wasabi - If you like going out to Japanese restaurants you already know what this spice can do. Get some wasabi with you sushi or your hibachi and stay full all night or afternoon. If you haven't tried sushi yet, give it a whirl, its delicious and very much in right now.

3. Water - Water is the most fundamental element on earth and without it we can't live. It also does the distinct pleasure of filling up your stomach when you're not eating. This is the perfect way to stay full and not eat, there's no sugar, carbs, fat, or calories, and you should already be drinking 3 bottles a day as is for a healthy immune system.

4. Salmon - Rich in protein and fat and absolutely delicious. This fat is the good fat though that will keep you from chowing down on the bag of chips on the top of your refrigerator 2 hours afterward.

5. Almonds - Almonds are once again making a list for me as they can seriously suppress any hunger you feel and keep you satisfied throughout the day. Don't eat the whole can of them though, these little nuts are still full of fat, one of the main reasons they keep you full.

As with all of these foods, you simply can't just eat them and have an overabundance of them and think you're putting off hunger. Limit yourself to much of these you eat.
