Call Forwarding
Get a call you really don't want to answer from your boss back home? On most cell phones, there is an option which allows for all calls that you get to go straight to your voicemail. If you use call forwarding, you won't be as tempted to pick up your phone probably because you won't notice that anyone's calling. Set your phone and use call forwarding to not have to listen to your boss or significant troublesome other whine and complain at you. Call them back whenever!
E-mail on Vacation Mode
This is something not used often enough. It's an option which allows for a personalized message or general message to be sent out saying your on vacation or doing something anytime anyone tries to contact you while on 'vacation' . It sends the message automatically so you don't have to lift a finger (other than to type the initial message before you go on that dream vacation of yours) anytime anyone e-mails you. Be sure to set your e-mail to vacation mode in case anyone has any 'very urgent' e-mails for you. I'm sure they'll understand.
Visit all the attractions
Going to the big apple? Or are you going to go and visit the city that never sleeps? Regardless, make sure to see and check out everything you find interesting. Whether it be that little doughnut shop that sells fried fish in mayo in an onion bagel or the statue of liberty herself, if you find it the least bit interesting, go and take a look. You might regret it if you don't.
Spend time with loved one(s) . . or don't
Sometimes going on vacation means spending quality time with those closest to you. Other times though, it means spending time away from those you love so much that you just need a break from them. Don't give into guilt and allow them to make you bring them a long or make them come if they don't want to go. Do what you want to do. Be open to compromise. Maybe this vacation you'll go it alone and the next will be a family vacation. Sometimes we all just need to get away if just for a day.
Get Lost
Perhaps the best part of a vacation, getting lost is one of the best parts in going on vacation. Sometimes taking the wrong road to your destination may lead you to an entirely different and sometimes better destination. Explore your surroundings and enjoy every minute of it. Remember, it may be awhile till you get the chance to come back to your new favorite spot that you just happened to stumble upon.

Post a CommentEven on vacation, I can't live without my email. I sell online and never want to take a break from my work. Sad, really. Living without my computer would be a punishment, not a vacation. Great tips.
