5 Free Golf Tips to Help Your Slice

Josh Wiley
I am here to offer some free tips to change your slice. A slice will hurt your game in more ways than you might realize and you can dramatically improve your score by getting rid of this slice in your golf game. Here are 5 free helpful tips.

Free Tip #1- Try to swing on a more shallow path or plane

Most golfers slice because they come over the top with their club. By this I mean they come from the outside of the ball to the inside of this ball. This creates a slice. Your tip here is to swing your golf club on a shallower plane with out lifting the club as much on your back swing. This will encourage you to come from the inside of the golf ball on the downswing and create a straighter shot.

Free Tip #2- Change your grip

Try experimenting with your grip and see if you can find something that works for your golf swing. If you grip the club in the palm of your hand this might restrict hand action and cause you to slice the ball. Try moving the grip of your club up out of the palm of your hand and grip the club lighter. This will encourage more hand action and help out your slice.

Free Tip #3- Pause your upper body and arms at the end of your backswing

Many amateurs race to the ball with there hands and this causes them to throw the club to the outside to hit the ball. For this tip try holding your back to the target while you begin your downswing with your lower body. This will help you get in position for an on plane swing and help your slice from happening.

Free Tip #4- Relax your arms

A golfer that struggles with a slice is often tense at address. They remain tense throughout the swing and this caused them to try to guide the ball and they forget to release the club. Keep your arms loose and your club will automatically release through your swing which will square your club face and help your slice.

Free Tip #5- Get a Draw Club

If all else fails and you are still struggling with the slice, it might be time to just keep your swing the same and try a club that helps to prevent a slice. Many club models have a draw feature or offset feature that will help cure the slice but the angle of the club face.

Use these tips and your golf slice woes should be behind you. You can start hitting the golf ball longer and straighter. Have fun!
