Educational Resources for Kids that Will Have Them Begging for More

With the right resources kids learn more, get distracted less, and begin to view education as a positive experience. The following is a list of five free online elementary education drill and practice resources for kids that will make education seem a little more like playtime than school.

Math
1) Math Baseball - Math Baseball on FunBrain.com gives students a chance to drill addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, by yourself or with a second player. Choose which skill you would like to drill, your level, and then play ball.

Grammer
2) Grammer Gorillas - Grammer Gorillas on FunBrain.com gives students a chance to drill the parts of speech. Choose the word in the sentence that correctly identifies the requested part of speech, and the gorillas get a banana. The game can be set for beginners, drilling the basics (nouns and verbs), or for advanced players, drilling all of the fundamental parts of speech (nouns ,verbs, adjectives, adverbs, interjections, prepositions, conjunctions and pronouns.)

History
3) Fling the Teacher History Games - Fling the Teacher history games on Schoolhistory.co.uk gives students a chance to drill questions about a variety of popular historical events, including Ancient Rome, The Crusades, The Great Plague, the World Wars and 64 other topics. Design your victim by choosing their hair color, hair style, skin color and extras, answer the questions correctly, and then fling away. You can also download the Fling the Teacher game, and create your own questions.

4) Eek! Shark! Note Naming Game - Eek! Shark! on MakingMusicFun.net give students a chance to drill their music theory skills with a fun and colorful arcade game. Choose the treble or bass clef, set the note range and test their skill. There are five levels to concour before your reach the end of the game. The flexibility of this game will make it a hit with teachers. The fast-paced fun will make it a hit with your kids.

Art
5) Mr. Picasso Head Art Activity - Mr. Picasso Head gives students a chance to create their own cubist portrait using Picasso elements, and then mail the image to their friends. Read a little about this twentieth century master and then give your students a chance to design their own art masterpiece.
