There are lots of free games available in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. Here are 5 of the best...of all different styles to suit anyone's taste in gaming.
Wordament - One of the best Windows Phone 7 games. In this word tournament, you have a grid of 16 letters and you have to find as many words as you can within 2 minutes. Different letters have different point values. But here's the best part: The game is played in real time against whoever else is playing at the time. There are usually around 200 or so other players playing most of the time. At the end of your game, you are given your score and shown the words you missed. Then you are shown the leaderboard with the scores and ranks of everyone playing at the time. Then the next game starts!Wordament has a current rating of 5 out of 5 stars...not very commonin the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace!
Pandas Vs. Ninjas - This game is very well made for a free game. It is similar in game play to Angry Birds. The pandas and the ninjas are at war, and your job is to help the pandas defeat the ninjas (you're on the pandas' side because they're cuter.) To play, you drag your finger back to set the strength and trajectory of the big panda's aim and then throw little pandas onto the ninjas and their camp. Different types of little pandas perform different actions. There are 5 scenarios to play in and each has 25 levels.Pandas Vs. Ninjashas a current rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Scribble Defense - This game is what's known as a tower defense game. Basically, you have these little hostile scrawls making their way towards the end of the line, where your little scribbles are. You don't want them to reach your scribbles, so you set up "towers" along the route...some shoot lasers at the scribbles, some throw spitballs at them, etc. You get coins for each scribble that you kill, and you use that money to buy more destructive towers.Scribble Defensehas a current rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
Alchemy Free - This is the free version of a unique and interesting game. Basically, you combine elements to make new elements. You start out with 4 elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. You drag one element on top of another to discover a new element, for example, Air+Water=Steam. It can get quite addictive trying to discover new element combinations! Some are funny, like Chicken+Egg=Dilemma (which came first, the chicken or the egg?) and Life+Fossil=Zombie. There are 286 elements to be discovered. Alchemy Free has a current rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Rune3 - If you like games like Bejeweled, you'll love this game. You have to line up 3 or more runes of the same color to clear them off of the board. You get bonuses for speed, clearing 4 or 5 runes at the same time or several rows at the same time. After playing, you can check out the online leaderboard to see how you stack up against other players!Rune3 has a current rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
To find any of these games, go to the Marketplace on your Windows Phone 7 and perform a search for the game you're looking for. Happy gaming!
