Everyone has been on an awful road trip before. Nobody likes to sit in a car in dead silence wondering what to do or what to talk about, regardless of age. Below are some fun travel games to use in order to spruce up your road trip and make the time fly by.

1. License Plate Game: everyone knows this as a classic these days. So many cars are on the road traveling it is almost regular that drivers and passengers will see cars from out of state. If you have children, you can print out a copy of each state for the kids to use while on the road. In order to win the game, the person with the most states seen wins. That is one variation. Also, it can be combined and played in teams depending on the number of people, or the winner can be someone who finds a car from the furthest distance. This game can be varied in many different ways. It is always fun to play, especially with the number of travelers growing each year.

2. Movie Game: Everyone can play this one also. The person who has seen the most movies has the upper hand. Basically, the first person names a movie. Whatever letter the title ends with, the next person must name a movie that begins with that letter. For instance, if the first movie is "The Karate Kid," the next person could use "Driving Mrs. Daisy." Continue on until there is one person standing as the winner.

3. Mad Libs: Mad Libs are always fun! Books can be bought and taken on the road to play with for the entire family. Once complete, take turns reading the hilarious stories and that'll make for a great time.

4. Trucker Game: This one is easy. Truckers are always on the road. Count how many times passengers can get truckers to honk their horns. The person who gets the most truckers to honk will win the game.

5. Bubble Blowing Contest: Give everyone in the car one piece of bubble gum. The person who blows the largest bubble wins the game! This one always leaves room for fun. If you want to make it interesting, give everyone two pieces.

Each of these games will provide plenty of entertainment for any road trip. Don't make your next journey a boring one that lasts forever. Road trips should always be fun and exciting. These games can be played with as little as two people or as many as a carful.
