5 Fun Holiday Gifts You Can Get on a Budget

Anna Sanclement
The Economy has everyone on a budget these days, but that doesn't mean you can't get great gifts for friends and family. Many fun gifts are available and can be obtained without burning a hole in your wallet. A good thing to keep in mind is that presentation is key to making a gift go from blah to great, no matter how much you spent on it. You can go to a discount store such as Marshall's and get a bunch of colorful gift bags in all sizes and some tissue and gift-wrapping paper at about half the cost or more than regular stores. You can use them to wrap all of your gifts. Here is a list of 5 fun gift ideas that will keep everyone on your list happy and appreciated.

A DVD. As I said before, the presentation here is important. First, pick a new release DVD that you know the gift receiver hasn't seen and include a bag of popcorn. Then wrap it nicely and put it in the gift bag with some tissue paper and sprinkle some candy on top of the tissue and gifts. Voila!

A pretty silver bracelet. You can find many silver pieces at very cheap prices, especially if you go to the department stores and look through the sales. Wrap it nicely with a bow, then, you can put in a small gift bag and throw in some chocolate kisses for a great fun gift.

A tea assortment. Get 2 or 3 boxes of tea at a food market (a Whole Foods type market has great varieties of tea) then get a bar of chocolate. Put bows on the tea boxes and nestle them in tissue paper and inside a gift bag. You can also add some honey sticks to the package for a nice touch.

A framed picture. Get an inexpensive but pretty frame (wood is nice) and put a personalized picture of the gift receiver or of someone/something important to them. You can personalize it by printing a message on a computer and pasting it on he picture along with some cute decoration such as a small ribbon on a corner. Wrap it nicely and there's another fun gift idea.

A customized music CD. Burn a few of the gift receiver's favorite songs on a CD, and print out a personalized CD jacket to put in the CD cover. Wrap it and stick a big bow on it, then put in a gift bag with a handful of candy.

And there you have it, 5 fun gifts you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on, which will be useful and enjoyed by all who receive them.
