One of the best steakhouses in Washington D.C., Mon Ami Gabi is a French bistro that specializes in delicious steak frites entrees. There's a large wine selection, yummy fresh bread at every table and live jazz several times per week at the cozy bar section in the front of the restaurant. Come with your appetite because it's hard to stop with a plate of steak frites in front of you.
Redwood - 7121 Bethesda Lane
Redwood Restaurant was the onsite location for last season's D.C. Top Chef restaurant wars. There is a wide range of food and drink available, starting with some fresh takes on American classics and great sandwiches, and moving up towards unique and seasonally based entrees. The Vidalia onion rings are a special treat not to be missed.
Vapiano - 4900 Hampden Lane
Vapiano is a fun and lively Italian restaurant that focuses on pizza and pasta, as well as a scenic and lively bar and lounge atmosphere. When you enter, you receive an electronic card that you swipe at food stations where chefs make to order whatever entrees and side dishes that you'd like to have. Choose from a variety of different pasta varieties and a wide range of sauces and flavors, grab your own table, either sitting at community tables, sofas at the lounge or regular dining tables, and pay at the door on the way out.
The Nest Cafe - 4921 Bethesda Avenue
The Nest Cafe is a neighborhood favorite, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere replete with a dog-friendly outdoor patio and deck, which stays open in the wintertime with a large heater keeping patrons comfortable. Food and drink are both tasty and affordable - the latter of which can be hard to track down around Bethesda Row - and there are nightly specials, live music on the weekends, and more.
