5 Funny Childrens Movies that Are Perfect for Family Night

These 5 Movies Will Bring the Kid Out in Anyone

TalV
The following list is my list of the funniest children's movies my daughters and I have seen. These are all films that made us laugh out loud and we enjoy watching them time and time again. So pop some popcorn and cuddle up with your little ones and enjoy some good clean laughs.

Ice Age

The first movie in the trilogy is by far the best and the funniest of the bunch. Watching a very odd 'herd' consisting of a Mammoth named Manny, a Sabre-Toothed Tiger named Diego, and a Sloth named Seth travel with a human baby leads to many hilarious antics. From the DoDo Birds protecting their food, to the herd riding on an underground slide, the laughs keep coming. If the funny antics of Manny, Diego, and Seth aren't enough, there is also the sub-story of Scrat, a squirrel looking animal, who is always chasing an elusive acorn. Ice Age is easily one of my daughters' favorite movies.

Home Alone

Home Alone is a childhood classic. It is also one of the funniest kids movies ever made. Launching the career of Macaulay Culkin, this movie is non-stop laughs from the moment you meet Kevin (Culkin) all the way through the film to the end. Watching this little boy set up simple booby traps to prevent the two burglars from making it into his home is simply hilarious. I can't stop laughing for almost an hour straight. My favorite scenes would have to be the ice on the front and back steps, and also the scene with the tarantula placed on the burglars face. My family loves to watch this movie time and time again, especially around Christmas Time. Excellent family movie.

Emperor's New Groove

An animated story of a self-centered Emperor of a mountain nation who gets turned into a Llama that is actually quite unique and funny. David Spade provides the voice for Kuzco, the spoiled Emperor, while John Goodman voices the character of Pacha, a well-rounded local who has to help Kuzco return to his palace so he can be returned to his human form. The pair is trying to avoid Yzma, the one responsible for Kuzco's animal form, and Kronk, Yzma's simple-minded assistant who accidentally turned the Emperor into a Llama instead of killing him. It is a good-natured movie that my girls simply love. There are an abundance of clean jokes and provides just a fun time for everyone.

Elf

Will Ferrell plays a human who was raised by Santa's Elves up until he realizes he isn't like all the other elves and travels to New York to find his real father. The movie is full of typical Ferrell comedy, clean comedy, and completely acceptable for children. The movie is rated PG, so parents may want to preview the film to make sure it is ok for their child. For our family, this movie has become a holiday standard.

Kung Fu Panda

Po, a large panda living in China, dreams of becoming a Kung Fu Master, like the Furious Five, Kung Fu warriors consisting of Tigress, Manta, Crane, Viper and Monkey. Voiced by Jack Black, the movie follows Po as he works towards becoming Dragon Warrior and obtaining the Dragon Scroll. The hilarious antics along the way leave you laughing for the entire journey. Even when Po has to come face to face with the evil Tai Lung, the jokes keep flying. From the battle over the dumpling, to Po's final battle with Tai Lung, the movie is non-stop entertainment. My girls love to watch this film over and over again, and we still laugh out loud throughout the whole thing.
