5 Gifts for Your Handy-Daddy

Some Dads Are Handyman, Here Are 5 Gift Ideas for Yours!

My husband is a handyman, beyond that he is a carpenter and an amazing one at that. My kids love getting their daddy gifts that we know he will use and love. So here are some of our top picks ( dad approved!)

A new tool box. Big or small, another tool box is something ANY handy-daddy needs. My husband has several. OK more then several he has a bunch and each one is used. He keeps one in the truck with emergency tools, if someone is locked out of their truck, he has a tool for that, flat tire, hes got the stuff, window chip, he can fix it, and it all sits in the truck with a pile of wrenches and screw drivers in his tool box. We also have ones tailored for my needs, if he isn't home, ones that are dedicated to working on the truck, working with wood and plumbing issues. Being able to sort his tools by their use is an invaluable thing. Plus they are always easy to find!

Screw drivers. I cannot stress how big this one is. They get lost, the one size you need, gone, are they in metric or not? There are so many different sizes, ones so small you can work inside a computer, and huge ones. Getting Handy-Daddy a set no matter their make and size is something he will always need and use. And a few extras never hurt anyone!

A good Hammer. My husband has about 4 hammers. He has a house hammer, one i can use to hammer in a nail to hang a picture, he has a framing hammer, its huge, i don't even want to pick that thing up its so heavy! This one builds houses, he has one that is special for plumbing, it has funky little picks on it. Handy-Daddy needs a few hammers. Find out which kind he needs and get him a spare. Its something that he will use.

A good set of levels. Handy-Daddy needs levels. Everything that goes up must be straight. You can choose from a traditional straight level, or go for the cool high tech laser level which are awesome! I suggest the laser level. Its smaller, and you cant go wrong with something that shoots a bright red line out across a whole room, and if nothing else fails, Fido will love playing with it!

That specialty tool hes been talking about. This is a blanket term. Your Handy-Daddy might have been talking in passing about something he really wanted. My Handy-Daddy wanted a router, a roto zip which can work as a router and this neat little radio that is water proof and drop proof and charges the batteries for all his cordless tools. Expensive were all three, but Handy-Daddy deserves something fun. He ended up with all three. For different holidays! The roto-zip is used to make decorative edging for shelves and whatnot. He has made some fun edging for windowsills and shelving with it. We no longer have to buy shelving, we can pick up a board at Home Depot and he makes our own shelves. Wonderful too. The router cuts rounded edges ( and does more but that's what he used it for) and the work radio is a wonderful thing. It sits down in the garage where my Handy-Daddy does all his wood working and car mechanics.

So you see you can go generic and get him something he will always use, or you can listen very closely to the things he mentions in passing and find something your Handy-Daddy is going to love!
