5 Good Spanish Wines

f.w.
If you like your wine then I will focus on five good Spanish types which are well worth a try. Like any wines, whether strong and classic like a Rioja or cheap and cheerful like some Chardonnay's, your taste is individual. I have selected my five favorite Spanish wines, the reasons and a little bit of information about each one selected. They are not the most nor the lease expensive just good value for money and a good wine:-

MILESIME - Chardonnay

This wine is one of the upper end in the price range and it originates in D.O. Cava from the winery Juve & Campes. It is an original wine and very different from a Cava, with ripe fruity aromas, mainly pears, apples and a hint of roasted almonds. This wine has a velvety texture and is beautiful to drink. I recommend this wine for its distinct flavor which is fine, persistant and complements most meals.

ALLENDA - Tempranillo

This wine is D.O.C. Rioja from the Bodegas Finca Allende winery. It is made from the Tempranillo grape and is at the lower end of the price range. It is a fine, elegant and well bred wine tasting of blackberries and spices. There are overtones of toffee and it has a intense yet silky palate. Allenda is a typical spanish wine with and a full bodied red which goes well with tortilla or salty meals.

MOLINO REAL MOUNTAIN WINE: Moscatel

This wine is at the highest end of my price bracket and comes from D.O. Malaga-Sierras de Malaga from the Cia.de Vinos Telmo Rodriguez winery. This surprising fresh wine has a little sweetness with hints of citrus fruits, pineapple and passion fruit. It is a luscious wine with a persistent finish. It may be at the higher end of the price scale but it is definitely worth a try.

GRAN FUEDO ROSANDO: Garnacha

For those of you who like a Rose and a bargain then this is the wine for you. It is a D.O. Navarra and originates from the Bodegal Junian Chivite. This well princed wine is suitable for every pocket and it potent and fresh. It is a full bodied and smooth wine which has a little sting in the tail like most Spanish Rose Wines. Excellent value and worth a try.

ENATE CHARDONNAY - Chardonnay

This is a mid-ranged priced Spanish wine which is a D.O. Somontano and comes from the Enate winery. It is a well-structured fine wine and has excellent spices and wild flower flavors. This wine goes well with many dishes especially vegtables and fish. It is right in the mid-range of wine prices and may give you a pleasent surprise.
