5 Great Chicago Summer Restaurants

In Chi Town, There Are Always Great Places to Eat!

J G Hodnette
Summertime for many of us is a great time to relax and enjoy one's self. Why cook during this relaxation period? Instead, you may want to go to one of Chicago's many fantastic restaurants. But which ones to choose? Well this handy guide will give you a little sample. Try a few of them out if you never have.

Gibson's Bar and Steakhouse - 1028 North Rush Street, (312) 266-8999

If you've never heard of or tried Gibson's and you're a meat lover then you are in for a treat. Though their steaks are pricey, they are incredibly delicious and enormous. At Gibson's everything is in huge portions. Desserts come at you for a reasonable price and huge. You'll be taking it home and finishing it off over the next couple of weeks. Though the bill can get a bit high, the leftovers will ease your heart and the experience is definitely one worth having if you love a good steak.

The Original Gino's East of Chicago - 633 N Wells St, 312-943-1124

There is something about being an original establishment that gets people going wild. Gino's East is probably the best pizza place in Chicago, if not all of the USA. Their signature deep dish pizza uses a soft, almost pastry-like crust that really melts in your mouth. The sauce is also fantastic. This is a pizza that you won't soon forget. Great for lunch or dinner.

Wishbone - 1001 W Washington St, 312-850-2663

Not everyone living in Chicago is from the north. Some of us have some southern roots and if you're looking for southern food, then Wishbone is the place for you. What do they serve? Well they specialize in the most important meal of the day: breakfast. Get everything that you've ever dreamed of as far as breakfast food goes at this warm and friendly establishment.

MK The Restaurant - 868 N Franklin St, 312-482-9179

Known as one of the hippest restaurants in town, this gem started by Michael Kornick serves American style cuisine with style. Homemade pastas, venison, and rack of pork are but a few of the items on the menu. The restaurant also has its own talented pastry chef, who will make dessert your favorite part of the meal once again.

Marrakesh - 941 West Randolph Street, 312) 243-1818‎

If the hyper expensive and American isn't what you had in mind, then consider this little gem that recently opened up. This small and personable restaurant serves Moroccan meals in a romantic atmosphere. This place is perfect for showing off to a first date how adventurous and romantic you can be. Some of the meals are at the low end of the expensive side and the menu is limited, but everything that you choose will taste amazing and will be full of exotic spice.

These are just five of countless amazing restaurants in the Chicago area. It would take a lifetime to try them all!

What's the difference? I swa this assignment and wondered. In Pensacola, on the Beach, we have businesses thatclose during the winter because of the reduction in activity. So, maybe they could be called summer restaurants. Oh well........great choices here!
