Almost all of us have friends or relatives who have large families and finding Christmas gifts for large families isn't always easy. Sometimes, you may have to choose between getting a gift for each person in the family, or one gift for everyone. Below, you will find several ideas for great Christmas gifts for a large family.
As a mother of five children and a family of seven, I am in the know about what large families would want and need for Christmas. Keep in mind that a gift doesn't always have to be something fun, it can also be something the family needs.
Here we go…
Movies: This is one of the smallest and easiest items that you can get a family. A nice family movie is something that everyone can enjoy.
Bulk Items: Last year, my parents gave us a gigantic box of toilet paper. Let me tell you, this was the best gift I received last year because I didn't have to buy toilet paper for over six months! Other bulk items like snack foods, shampoo, soap, paper towels, diapers and wipes, are wonderful gifts for a large family that may need these things throughout the year.
Gift Cards: Gift Cards are perfect gifts for large families. By giving gift cards you have the option of giving a small amount to each person or giving one gift card for the whole family. Also, with gift cards you can choose whether you want to give them a store gift card or a cash card. In these struggling economic times a gift card can be just the right thing for a large family to get what they need after the hardship of their own Christmas purchases.
Board Games: Board games make wonderful family gifts. Most large families will appreciate the gift of board games. The nice thing about picking out board games is that you can choose from the age ranges and there are plenty of games out there like Pictionary, which the whole family can play. Board games can get pretty pricey, but they also offer a great family bonding experience.
Picture Frames: This may seem crazy, but I swear by picture frames as a gift. Every large family probably has a zillion pictures laying around that they want to eventually frame and put op on the wall. You cannot go wrong with giving out picture frames. Granted, it's not very fun for the kids, but it's still a great family gift.
