Do Dinner & Drinks

Restaurants and bars are in abundance in downtown Northampton. One of the most interesting combinations would be to dine at Spaghetti Freddy's and follow that up with drinks at the Tunnel Bar. The restaurant used to be a full service train station, and if you make reservations or arrive early you can even eat in a semi-enclosed area resembling a train compartment. Various train memorabilia, including an engine, adorn the walls. Located below the train tracks, in short walking distance of the Spaghetti Freddy's, is the Tunnel Bar. As the name implies, the bar was actually built in a tunnel. Comfortable seats and scrumptious snacks add to the cool ambiance.

If you enjoy nature and getting a good workout, pedaling or walking the Norwottuck Rail Trail is a wonderful way to spend time together. You can start in Downtown Northampton or Amherst, pack a lunch to go, and snap great photos of foliage and flowers along the way. Who says a good date needs to happen after the sun goes down?
