5 Great Fall Outfits for Date Night

Susan Brown
When the feeling of autumn starts to fill the stale summer air, a girl can get pretty excited. And this is especially the case when she's getting her cold-weather wardrobe together for those nights out with her honey. But what's in style right now, and what's the best thing to wear when you want to catch your honey's eye? Here are some of the top outfits you will want to get together right now so that you will be totally prepared for every romantic weekend!

Leggings, flats, and big chunky sweaters

Right now, leggings are in and they don't look to be going anywhere anytime soon. They're great to wear with long tunics, dresses that are too short to be otherwise appropriate, or with big and room sweaters that are tunic length. In fact, big and chunky sweaters are the perfect pairing for these staples - especially if that sweater has a cute twist to it like a pretty color, a feminine neckline (like a wide boatneck or a deep v-neck). It looks even better when you add some dressy accessories like bangles and big earrings, and of course you want to wear the right shoes for this look: flat is always better whether it be simple skimmers or flat foldover boots. It all sums up to a really cute, casual but sassy look!

Little black dress, black pumps, and a trench coat

If your date night needs to be a bit more dressy, the little black dress is always the way to go, paired with your favorite pumps. But to make it fall-worthy, the stylish trench coat is always the way to go! Just make sure it is at least 1 inch shorter than your dress, but no more than 3 inches difference. Of course, you are going to be removing the trench coat once you get indoors, and so you don't want the outfit underneath to be too very bland and blah. So, you want to add a little color whether it be a popping and eye-catching necklace, or perhaps some gorgeous emerald earrings.

Short skirt, cute tights, boots, and a slim sweater

This is a totally cute and classic style that can be dressed up or down. Of course, don't make your shirt too short, because then it becomes too teeny-bop looking. Make it classy, and of course to make this classic look a real autumn look, you always want to pair it with the tights or dark panty hose. You can never go wrong with black sheer hose, and black slim boots. And to top it all off, nothing says autumn like a cute, slim and classic sweater like a ribbed turtleneck.

Trouser jeans, a pretty blouse, and boots

This look sounds rather casual, but when you switch out the run-of-the-mill jeans with more dressy trouser jeans, the look is great. Throw on a flirty but decent blouse, perhaps tucked into the jeans, and put on some cute boots on the bottom. Ankle boots are really cute with this look, too! Just make sure to wear no-show socks or else panty hose/tights underneath.

Flippy skirt, pretty long-sleeve blouse, and boots

Nothing is more feminine than a flippy skirt, and it works especially well on girls who don't have much hip going on. Stay away from prints when it comes to the skirt, as it often ends up looking messy, but you can go all out with the top - there are lots of pretty prints this year. And what makes this look extra stylish is the pairing of boots with the look. You will want to have a little heel with this look, because you are not going to be wearing anything on your legs, and with the short flippy skirt your calves are going to be showing... and so the heel will help accentuate those calves no matter what their size!
