5 Great Google Chrome Apps

Google Chrome is an internet browser created by well-known search engine company Google. iGoogle, the personalized Google home page, is customizable. Google offers a variety of apps to include on your iGoogle page, from functional to fun and even animations to keep you entertained. With all these gadgets, there are a few that stand out from the rest as 'must-haves'. These apps make the most of your iGoogle page and give you important information.

1. Gmail
This app allows you to see your inbox and any new email on your home page. You can set it to the number of messages you want to preview in the window, whether you want it compact and showing less emails, or you want it to show several and take up a little more room is up to you.

2. Google Reader
Follow any blogs or pages? The Google Reader app lets you see everything you haven't read yet, and you can refresh to show anything new. This live feed shows you everything so you don't miss what you're watching.

3. Google Calendar
Google Calendar keeps track of all your appointments, shows upcoming events and reminds you of the current date. It's like a planner right at your fingertips, displayed on your home page for you to keep track of everything.

4. Weather
The Weather app doesn't just show you today's forecast - it goes out 4 days. Not only that, but you can enter a variety of locations - so you can see what it's like in several places at once. Very handy for travelers who might want to know what the weather's going to be like at their next stop.

5. Google News
The great thing about the Google News app is you can program it to show what you're interested in. Want to see what's going on in a city? Type it in. Want the latest on a specific news story? Type in the key words. It's that easy! Google News prevents you from having to wade through pages of news stories to find what you're interested in - a huge time saver!

Note: To change the settings on any of the apps, simply follow these instructions:
Click on the top right hand side down arrow, select "Edit Settings" and change what you need to in the box that pops up.
