I'm not much for trends, but I was thrilled when tunic-length shirts hit stores everywhere. Finally there was a shirt that covered my stomach with fabric to spare. Standing at 5'9" tall, I am still the shortest woman in my father's family. My aunt and her daughters are nearly 6ft, and the fact that most women's clothing is made for women close to the average height of 5'6" is a problem we all share. While petites have had their own section for years, tall women have had a tough time finding long enough sleeves, hemlines, and inseams. And even if you find a store that offers tall sizes, many times they are only in plus sizes. The best thing is that the sizes are the same as usual, but proportioned for women over 5'11". So while I am technically too short for their sizes you'll forgive me if I take advantage of the extra 2 inches on sleeve length. Inseams come in a 34" as well as a 36". Sizes run from 2T to 16T. Men should also have a look because unlike many brands who only make big and tall sizes Gap sells Tall mens in sizes from xs to xxxl.

The sizes run from 4 to 16 and most pants are a 36" inseam. Being a couture site the prices are higher than most of the other sites on the list, but not unreasonable. They carry good names and have some great sales.

Some of the styles will run several sizes larger than normal, simply because they're tall, but Joy posts a handy little "Generous Sizing" warning to let you know. While the site doesn't have a large selection it does have a wide variety of styles and prices (for example: in jeans the prices range from $60 to $140.) and is worth searching around to find a unique piece.

Its huge online selection even includes maternity wear, and nicest collection of suiting I've seen at any tall women's clothing store. Inseam lengths range from 34 to 38 inches and the prices are reasonable. I just wish they'd open a store near me.

Long Elegant Legs For the longest legs, choose this store. They feature inseams up to 39 inches, in several attractive pant styles. This site also has a few get items in every category from active wear to career wear. They also carries women's shoes in sizes in 10-13, many styles include half sizes as well.
