5 Great Places to Party on New Year's Eve in Indianapolis

Indianapolis has a great party scene on New Year's Eve. So, this New Year's Eve, get out on the town. Here are five parties that will make New Year's Eve in Indianapolis a night to remember.

The Rathskeller

The Price: $50 in advance, $55 day of

The Times: Doors open at 6pm, live entertainment until 1am.

The Feature: Live bands: Phoebe and the Mojo Makers and Toy Factory

The Scoop: The Rathskeller is a German themed bar at 401 East Michigan Street, across the street from the Murat Theater. Reviewers lament the crowded atmosphere inside, but universally love the beer. On New Year's Eve, Wednesday, December 31, the Rathskeller party will feature live music. Phoebe and the Mojo Makers will play from 7 - 8:30pm, and Toy Factory will ring in the New Year, playing from 9pm - 1am. Ticket price includes an hors 'd oeuvre buffet, party favors, champagne at midnight, and of course the music. This is a bar, so you must be 21 and over to come. The Slippery Noodle In

The Price: $240 for a 4-person table, $280 after Christmas

The Times: Doors open at 7pm. Don't arrive later than 8:30pm

The Feature: Blues Music

The Scoop: Boasting to be Indiana's Oldest Bar, the Slippery Noodle Inn is regularly the host of fantastic blues music, and New Year's Eve will be no different in that regard. For $240, you and three friends (or you and three empty chairs), are guaranteed reserved seating, a split of champagne, hats and noise makers, and a buffet dinner. The price goes up $40 after Christmas, so make your reservations early. The Alex Wilson Band will be performing in the back, and the W. T. Feaster Band in the front. The buffet line gets torn down at 9:15, as both bands will start playing between 9:45 and 10pm. At 10, the doors open to the general public, so if you haven't claimed your seat by then, it will go up for grabs. Dress is casual. Hyatt Regency

The Price: $49, $79, $339, $379, $449, depending on the package

The Times: 8pm - 2:30am

The Feature: New Year's Eve Rock n Roll Ball

The Scoop: Located at one south capitol avenue, the Hyatt Regency Hotel is one of the classiest places to be in Indianapolis on New Year's Eve. In addition to Indy's biggest midnight balloon drop and a fantasy casino, the fourth annual New Year's Eve Rock n Roll Ball will host more on-stage entertainment than you could possibly enjoy in a single evening. Headliners Henry Lee Summer and Duke Tumatoe will share the Grand Ballroom Stage, while local favorites like The Why Store, X103's The Don Stuck Band, and DJ Brian Jackson will be in the Atrium. DJ Helicon from the Mudkins, and comedian Scott Long complete the entertainment lineup. Dress is casual to classy. Dancing, music, comedy, the fantasy casino, and Indianapolis' biggest balloon drop at midnight guarantee that this New Year's Party has something for everyone, as long as "everyone" is 21 or over.

General Admission tickets are $49. The VIP Party Package includes a private VIP balcony section, hors d' oeuvres buffet, party favors, and admission into all areas of the party, for $79. The Price: $35 - $60, depending on your seat

The Times: Begins at 9pm

The Feature: Special Guest - Manhattan Rhythm Kings

The Scoop: Join conductor Sean Newhouse and the Manhattan Rhythm Kings as they perform your favorite standards from the 1920s-40s. Included in the ticket price is a post concert party at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, with live music and a champagne toast at midnight. This is the perfect New Year's Eve party for music lovers. The Feature: Steak Dinner
