5 Great Websites for Money Management Advice

K. W. Callahan
It's hard enough these days just to save a buck. And if or when you manage to, you could still be left wondering what to do with it or how to make the most of it? Interest rates on most savings accounts -- even highly yield accounts -- aren't too hot right now. CD rates aren't faring much better. The government has for months been telling us inflation is flat, yet here prices are, suddenly shooting up all around us. The stock market is holding steady but could take another dive at any moment. Bond rates are crapping out. And after the financial crisis, many of us aren't too hot on the idea of turning to the experts and financial analysts for advice.

So where do you turn for some ideas on money management?

Here are five money management blogs and websites I've found that might help you in your search for money management advice, and if not, could at least provide a helpful tip or two.

Money Management International

There is a ton of information to be had on the Money Management International site. You can find a variety of financial education topics spanning subject matter from "Youth and Money" to "Saving" and "Bankruptcy". There are also a slew of resources to explore including webcasts, webinars, ebooks, and lots more. You can also pick through their "Community" page to read the latest blog posts. You're just about bound to find something to pique your interest at the Money Management International site when it comes to personal finances.

Mvelopes

While Mvelopes is an online personal finance and money management system, they also have a blog associated with their website. There are a range of personal finance posts to be found here written by a number of different contributors. I always find it kind of nice when you can read posts by a variety of authors on a particular site so that you can get an assortment of different opinions and viewpoints. You might also want to browse through their video and written success stories if you're looking for a little inspiration.

Dough Roller

I love this site's motto: "Make More. Spend Less. Invest the Rest." Plenty of reviews, tips, and more when it comes to investing, saving, and a good selection of personal finance related subject matter.

Sort through this site by checking out categories such as "Banking and CDs", "Taxes", "Insurance", "Promo Codes", "Credit Cards", and more. With tax time fast approaching, it might be worth boning up on your tax knowledge by perusing the "What is Tax Form ___" (select from the site's variety of tax forms) articles found under the "Taxes" tab.

Moolanomy

Moolanomy provides plenty of personal finance information geared toward real people who need real information regarding their money. Choose from a variety of reviews to read or consider taking a look at the "Q&As" tab and read answers to questions others are asking or ask a question of your own. Consider stopping in at the "Credit Scores" tab if you'd like to learn more about getting free credit scores or check out their coupon and promo codes -- you might find something useful!

Family Money Management

Family money management is often easier said than done. Just when you think you have one aspect under control, another falls apart, so it can be helpful to get a few tips and tidbits along the way.

At the Family Money Management website you can investigate a few informational spots such as the "Spend Less Money" and "It's Free" categories. If you're attempting to go the online money making route, you might want to check out the "Online Business" category for some helpful tips, or figure out how to fix your credit at the "Credit Repair" section.
