5 Halo 3 Features Bungie Got Rid of in Halo: Reach

Halo 3 Features that No Longer Exist in Halo: Reach

Millionaire Hoy
Bungie added lots of new features to Halo: Reach to make it a better game, but sometimes in order to make things better you'll have to get rid of a few bad seeds. Following are 4 features Bungie Removed in Halo: Reach that existed in Halo 3.

Dual Wielding

Dual wielding has been in Halo games since Halo CE, but will not make an appearance in Halo: Reach. Bungie has added lots of new weapons to Halo: Reach, but none of them have been dual wielding weapons and Bungie has yet to announce any plans for dual wielding in the future. If you like holding two weapons at a time and squeezing the heck out of your controller's triggers, you'll have to stick with Halo 3 because this feature doesn't exist in Halo: Reach.

Social Slayer

Wait, what? No Social Slayer in Halo: Reach? Yes, it's true; Halo: Reach did away with Social Slayer and merged both ranked and social games once and for all. In Halo 3, Ranked Slayer was for playing hardcore games against good players and Social Slayer existed for Halo 3 beginners and relaxed game play. Bungie added custom options for deciding the types of games that you'd like to play in Halo: Reach and kind of makes social gaming obsolete. Halo: Reach also added a new playlist called the Arena that'll add the competitive edge of Ranked games in Halo: Reach's matchmaking.

Numbered Rank

Halo 3 had a numbered rank system that ranged from 1-50 and also had military ranks that accompanied them. The numbered rank system in Halo 3 was one of the leading reasons for boosting, cheating, and other exploits that made Halo 3 suck for others that weren't taking advantage of these exploits. Numbered ranking won't exist in Halo: Reach and the new Arena playlist will give a more detailed ranking system and leaderboards that will not only rely on the games you've won, but will also look at other skill related variables when considering your rank.

Master Chief

You loved him, I loved him; Master Chief was the protagonist in every Halo game to date, but won't be featured in Halo: Reach. We'll miss Master Chief, but Bungie has given us a few more Spartans to enjoy in the new Halo: Reach game. Halo: Reach will feature five new Spartans including Kat, Jorge, Carter, Jun, and Emile and collectively these five Spartans go by the name of Noble Team.

Hops

This might sound odd, but the Spartans in Halo: Reach have had a serous leg downgrade when compared to Master Chief in every other Halo game. Halo: Reach Spartans won't be able to jump as high as Spartans did in other games and for the first time since Halo CE, drop damage will make a return in Halo 3.

AND the Spartans in Reach are from the SPARTAN-III program, which is why they can't jump as high as MC, a SPARTAN-II.

For once, dual-wielding never existed in Combat Evolved. Play the game and learn more about it.

Wow. That's so stupid. "Dual wielding has been in Halo games since Halo CE, but will not make an appearance in Halo: Reach." Do you even play Halo?
