5 Happy Healthy Celebrity Marriages

Reports of Sandra Bullock and Jesse James or Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods only seem to reinforce the stereotype of dysfunctional celebrity marriages. While there are many healthy and happy marriages out there, these marriages don't generate headlines. Stories about sex scandals, deception, and bitter custody battles are far more newsworthy.

Here's a look at several happy healthy celebrity marriages that we don't hear about every day.

1. Roger Federer and Mirka Vavrinec: They met at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, and the rest is history. They are now happily married with twins. Tennis fans respect Mirka as a stabilizing force in Roger's life both on and off the court. She's living proof that behind every good man is a good woman.

2. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore: Although fans initially raised a can about the age difference, this happy couple has actually made it. According to Access Hollywood, Kutcher credits the success of his marriage.

"We're so communicative about the way that we're feeling that we don't allow space to come between us. I definitely believe that if you stop working at relationships, they go away."

3. Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan: They played a couple on Family Ties, fell in love for real, and became one of Hollywood's most stable and enduring marriages. Their marriage survives through difficult times, including his Parkinson's.

Fox told People Magazine that humor helps keep this happy couple together. "We have the same appreciation for life." Through thick and thin, Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan realize that they are lucky to have each other and their family.

4. Kirk Cameron and Chelsea Noble: Kirk Cameron and Chelsea Noble met and fell in love on the set of Growing Pains. Sharing a common faith likely contributes to the longevity of this happy marriage. As they told Christianity Today, they often pray together and are committed to raising their children together as a team. They also find a balance between being together and respecting each other's personal space.

5. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar: The happy couple married in 2002 but waited until 2009 to have children. Sarah Michelle told Access Hollywood that waiting for the right time to start a family has allowed their relationship to grow.

"I try to go into everything with an open mind, but it's much more than I thought it would be. The partnership grows to such a different level... Now he's my partner, my best friend, and my husband."

P.S. Please excuse if I'm not around a lot lately - I'm having a series of bad disk flare ups in my back, and must sit at computer only to do whatever articles I can, so can't spend a lot of time doing comments.

Good for them - let's see if they can cut it all the way to 30 or 40 like some old Hollywooders - Bob Hope, Danny Kaye and their wives, Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward, etc.

How nice that there are some blessed couples out there lol.

Ben Stiller's parents have been married for 50 years. I think Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Denzel Washington and Paulette, and Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are also worth mentioning.
