Tweens are at such a unique age. They are caught in this cosmos somewhere between Strawberry Shortcake and Rhianna. Once kids get to the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth birthday, bottles of bubbles and sidewalk chalk just aren't going to win tween favor in the birthday party favor department. My own tweenager has been both hostess and guest at several tweenage parties. We'll share the best summer party favors for tween girls here.

Unique beverage holders swallow the attention of tweens.

Whether it's an oversized blue plastic cup with flowers around the stem from a luau party, a neon water bottle from a sports party or a mug with a crazy straw from a milkshake party, tweens covet cool cups in summer.

Nail polish hits the spot with most tweenagers.

Not all tweens, mine included are wearing make up, but many are having fun painting their nails. For summer tweens love bright and glittery colors to match their bathing suits and favorite summer bags. Sally Hansen Quick Dry is a great first nail polish for these busy girls.

Movie gift cards are rated PG for perfect for girls.

In summer kids have more free time to enjoy those summer blockbuster.
A movie gift card and a pack of microwave popcorn is a cool party favor combo, especially if your tween has a movie themed birthday party. A movie gift card is a great party favor for girls to have fun out of the sun.

Exotic plants are a unique party favor that will really grow on tweenage girls.

Whether it's a tropical penguin party, a luau or a Tangled party, an exotic plant like the "Pink Star" can be a really unique party favor. Tweens are becoming more responsible and nurturing and caring for an exotic plant can be super fun.

Photo frames are the perfect party favor to share a moment in time.

Even in the age of social networking, cell phone cameras and digital scrapbooks, tween girls still love to frame pictures of "me and my friends" having fun in summer in the old fashion way. Decorating the frames to match the theme of the party can even be a fun birthday party activity. For example, for a dog party, girls can add dog stickers. Then your tween can add pictures from the party in her thank you notes so everyone has a memento of her fun summer birthday party.
