5 Kid Friendly Sites for Bored Children

C.B. Jones
I've decided to write the this article as a labor of love for my fellow human being. Or, it's out of sheer boredom. I can't decide which. The following is a list of web sites with kid friendly activities.

I would advise those 13 and under not to use the internet all Milli Vanilli/willy nilli by typing in random word parings into a search engine. (Getting the feeling of deja vu? I published this article the first time as No payment / Non-Exclusive, and an editor still somehow reviewed and declined it. I hope that was a glitch. If it wasn't, the person who reviewed it may need to take up reading comprehension.)

You see, a good deal of the Internet was not designed for your young, beady little eyes to lay witness to. I'm doing this as a public service, really. Unlike some people, I don't need a parole officer or a judge to encourage me to do something nice for people I don't know(with the alternative being hard time).

ChessKIDS
Chess is without the shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest board games ever created(behind Chutes and Ladders.) It's a game of strategy. It's a game of sacrifice.

It's also somewhat easy to learn as well as difficult to master. ChessKIDS has interactive lessons, puzzles and quizzed to help kids(or adults) learn this rewarding and fun game of conquest.

Daily Coloring Pages
Daily Coloring Pages...Not updated daily, but it does in fact have a bunch of coloring pages to print out. So for that very reason, I will refrain from ranting about the redundant name of this site.

Anything you could ever think about coloring is here. If you always wanted to make Archie Comics characters look like they were cast in the Matrix, Men in Black, or any other movie where the main characters wore suits and Ray-Bans, then by golly, you can do as you please and use up 12 black crayons in the process!

PaperKraft
Got a lot of paper, some scissors, and an urge to make miniature people and animals to reenact memorable movie scenes? Or, start a secret society of paper people, who control the weather and our government behind the scenes? This is probably the site for you.

Projects are centered around cartoons, robots, nature and scaled down versions of real life objects. If you always wanted a grand piano to sit beside your computer monitor, you best go here to learn how to make one.

DragoArt
The site has tutorials ranging on a vast array of subjects. You can sign up and submit your own tutorials, upload pictures and make an art gallery, and participate in the forums.

You can learn how to draw lame things like Sponge Bob or that kid from Ben 10, and cool things like Ichigo Kurosaki From Bleach, and a cartoon puppy with freakishly ginormous eyes!

Gaia Online
I already wrote a review of Gaia, which is still pretty relevant till this day. The only real change worth mentioning since I wrote that article would have to be the layout(and my unconscionable ability to get lost on that site because of said layout.)

Out of everything else on this list, it definitely has to most replay value. The site contains a very active forum community, flash games and as engrossing role playing themed storyline and events.
