Michele Bachmann Halloween Costume
Dress as the controversial congresswoman for Halloween in 2010! You'll need a power suit (blazer and skirt), wear your shoulder-length hair parted to the side (no bangs) and add jewelry such as a pearl necklace and earrings. Wear red lipstick and make sure you do your makeup nicely. The hair makes the costume, so if you don't have medium-length dark brown hair, consider getting a wig.
Dick Enrico Halloween Costume
Dick Enrico, the Second Wind Exercise equipment owner and star of his company's commercials, makes for an excellent Minnesota-based Halloween costume. Wear a black sport coat, white shirt, fake wire-rimmed glasses and a fake porn-star moustache. If you don't have a big belly, put a pillow under your shirt. Dick Enrico has dark black hair, with a receding hairline, so you may need to slick it back. Plaster a friendly grin all over your face and talk about used treadmills all night long. Don't forget the slogan, "Why buy new, when slightly used will do?"
Brock Lesnar Halloween Costume
The biggest mixed martial arts star of the UFC hails from Alexandria, Minnesota, making this a recognizable, yet easy-to-make Halloween costume. To make a Brock Lesnar costume, dress in a UFC shirt, stuff it with pillows, wear boxing shorts with cut-out labels of Brock Lesnar's sponsors (Jack Links, etc.) and talk smack all night.
Tom Petters Halloween Costume
Dress as the fallen Minnesota businessman convicted of running the biggest Ponzi scheme next to Bernie Madoff. It helps if you're a short dude-Tom Petters is a short guy. Go as Tom Petters pre-conviction and dress in a suit, slick your hair back, and perhaps carry around a briefcase with Fingerhut, Sun Country and Polaroid logos. Or you can dress in an orange jumpsuit.
Rusty Gatenby Halloween Costume
The KSTP Channel 5 traffic guy is so recognizable, that it makes for a creative Halloween costume. Rusty has red hair and freckles - you might need to get a wig and use makeup to create the freckles. He typically wears colorful striped sweaters (you can probably pick one up at a thrift store). Make cheesy jokes all night long, talk about traffic jams (make sure to mention Lake Drive a bunch!) and carry around a microphone.
