Britt Baker
Beyond guacamole, there are a number of other ways to eat, delicious, healthy avocados. Some other ways include those mentioned in my article 5 Ways to Eat Avocados, such as in salads, sandwiches, wraps, or burritos, simply seasoned, as guacamole or other dips, or even avocado butter! However, there are still plenty more ways to eat avocados, fruit rich in vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin B6, and vitamin K, as well as other nutrients, like dietary fiber, potassium, folate, and copper. So, try these other 5 ways to eat avocados and enjoy the health benefits of this delicious fruit!

1. Veggie Burger Topping

Avocado is a great topping for veggie burgers. You can either put slices of avocado on top of the vegetarian burger or mash the avocado up a bit and spread it onto the burger. Other toppings that go well with avocado on veggie burgers include tomatoes, onions, lettuce, jalapeno peppers, roasted red peppers, and pico de gallo.

2. Sushi

Avocado is a popular ingredient in sushi rolls, and, it compliments plenty of other vegetables, so some great ways to eat avocados are in sushi rolls as the stand alone center ingredient, or with other vegetables, such as carrots, cucumber, spinach, or asparagus.

3. Veggie Chili or Soup Topping

Avocado also compliments the layers of flavors in spicy soups or vegetarian chili. Another great way to eat avocado is to pile a few slices of avocado, or even a spoonful of guacamole or mashed avocado, onto a spicy, flavorful soup, such as vegetarian tortilla soup, or on veggie chili. The creamy texture of avocado adds a distinctive texture to hearty soups and chili.

4. Filled Portabella Mushroom Caps

Another awesome way to eat avocados is stuffed inside portabella mushroom caps. After sauteing the portabella mushroom caps, fill them with avocado that has been mashed up and seasoned with freshly ground sea salt and black peppercorn, as well as any other seasonings you enjoy. You can also mix small chunks of tomatos in with the mashed avocado or simply top the filled portabella mushroom caps with them.

5. Pancake or Waffle Topping

Interestingly, avocado slices taste quite scrumptious when used as a topping for freshly made pancakes or waffles. This is one of the less thought of ways to eat avocados, but also one of the tastiest! Avocado topped on pancakes or waffles tastes especially well when chocolate chips are added either on top or inside of the pacakes or waffles and when maple syrup is drizzled on top.

Enjoy all of these creative ways to eat avocados, and enjoy the health benefits of this delicious, creamy fruit!
