1.) Newsboys Born Again -July 13, 2010
Back with a new sound, Newsboys' Born Again not only captures the essence of what it means to be spiritiually reborn but also captures the rebirth of one Contemporary Christian Music's best. Though some longtime Newsboys fans may still be missing Peter Furler, the group's former longtime lead singer, who left the group to dedicate more time with his family and songwriting, fans can once again rally behind the twenty plus running group and its rebirth with its new, talented lead singer, Michael Tait, a former member of the CCM pioneer group dc Talk. Born Again features the hit title track, "Born Again", and the hit single "I'll Be".
2.) Jeremy Camp We Cry Out - August 24, 2010
Beloved Contemporary Christian Artist Jeremy Camp, acclaimed for his #1 hit songs like "Walk by Faith," "Take You Back," "I Still Believe" and others, is preparing for the release of his second worship album We Cry Out: The Worship Project. With songs co-written with prominent worship leaders, like Matt Maher, Brenton Brown and Hillsong's Reuben Morgan, and the presence of award-winning producer Brown Bannister's producing prowess, We Cry Out:The Worship Project is an album not to miss!
3.) Natalie Grant Love Revolution - August 24, 2010 (tie)
Already gaining momentum with the hit single "Greatness of Our God" and the nationwide "Love Revolution Tour" with Britt Nicole and Phil Stacey, Love Revolution, Natalie Grant's eighth album, is an album that deserves a hearing.
3.) Israel Houghton Love God Love People- August 31, 2010 (tie)
Recorded at the historic Abbey Studios in London, alongside celebrated producers Tommy Simms(Amy Grant, Garth Brooks, Cece Winans) and Aaron Lindsey(Martha Munizzzi, George Huff, Israel & New Breed), three time consecutive Grammy Award Winner, gifted CCM artist Israel Houghton is set to inspire and be of blessing to many with his second studio album, Love God Love People.
4.) Sixpense None the Richer Strange Conversation- August 24, 2010
Two years after the release of their hit album Divine Discontent, Sixpense None the Richer took music fans by surprise when they announced their break up in the fall of 2004. Six years after the break up, the group's officially coming back on the music scene with their first studio album since the band's reunion and its first in eight years!
The Nashville group's lead singer, Leigh Nash, and guitarist, Matt Slocum, who co- wrote the songs on the new album with a diverse set of talented songwriters, were fascinated at discovering that their individual songs sounded like a conversation, inspiring the album's title "Strange Conversations".
5.) Addison Road Stories- June 22, 2010
Though the Texas-based, CCM group has accomplished much since their self-titled debut in 2008, the road hasn't been easy! The group's endured the hardships of having their van and trailer, which contained all their gear, being stolen twice. The van was recovered, only to be demolished in an accident with a fallen oak tree. Apart from that, an RV that the group was renting caught on fire, along with all their positions inside the RV. While others would give up, Addison Road has done the contrary.
Teaming up with phenomenal CCM artist, Tobymac, with some of the songwriting on the album and producer Chris Stevens (Matthew West, Big Daddy Weave), Stories, Addison Road's sophomore release is geared to be a compelling, hallmark release.
Other anticipated releases:
Pure NRG Graduation: The Best of Pure NRG (July 20, 2010)
Group 1 Crew Outta Space Love (September 21, 2010)
Hillsong Live A Beautiful Exchange (June 29, 2010)

Post a CommentHey Josh.... thanks again for being so informative with your article topics. I am a bit out of the loop with the Christian music scene these days and it is nice to be able to catch up in a hurry! The last group... Addison Road... I have never heard before, so I will be checking them out! Blessings Josh.... (It was good to see you at graduation (even though it was brief)
Joshua, thanks for giving me the heads up on these groups. (What a difficult time Addison Road has been having...I had no idea).
And thank you for the encouragement you've been sending my way lately. It's very appreciated. God's peace. :)
I love it! It's going to be a great summer of Christian releases :) cheers for the updates!
Excellent update on some super artists, Joshua. I'm old country, bluegrass, southern baptists gospel, modern classic, comtemporary paise and worship, if is serves God through glorifying Him in Spirit and in truth loves the music fellow. Will be looking forward to hearing and learning these. Thanks for the tips.
What an awesome review of some great artists it sounds like. I know two of these, but that's okay. I tend to listen to Bott Radio network which features more Christian teaching and I truly need to listen to more worship and praise music. Well done Joshua. Thank you.
